"Alexander Lee" called me today and left a voice message. Sounds like it's the same thing as what everyone else has written here - I've committed tax fraud, and to avoid a warrant and local court proceedings, I need to contact him ASAP to discuss.

I reported it to scamwatch.gov.au, and also the ATOs scam department who seem to have heard of several of these types of scams doing to rounds recently. The number I received the call from was (02) 5306 2282, which is one digit up from another number mentioned on here - they apparently just generate a new number when they need to.

Sick of scum like this - My housemate is off work at the moment due to mental health reasons and these f*cks will not stop calling her, I've literally spent days now convincing her it is a scam. It's f*cking her head - I have luckily been able to intervene and stop two self harming episodes directly related to this 'Alexander Lee' ATO harassment of a mentally unwell person who is on the edge because theyre talented, off work due to injury, now suffering depression and social anxiety and feel like they are worthless, they're living off the pitiful savings they have from a theatre job. Scammers need to realise they are preying off the vulnerable and their actions can be the tipping point in someone else's reality. f*ck OFF.

I got a call today 5302 2281 so Alexander Lee has a new number. So obvious a scam. I just hope other people realise - the ATO would never contact you and threaten you like this. His message was full of vague details like prosecute in the local district court (we don't have districts courts in Tasmania). It's a nasty message to receive though if you're a vulnerable person.

Just had the guy (Alexander Lee) call me with the exact message as above however the number given to me is (02) 6064 2019.. losers!

I had the same call and message left from an Alexander Lee claiming that he had a legal complaint that I was avoiding taxes and fraud. Beware this is a scam. Number is (02) 6064 2019

I have received the same message today from Alexander Lee. Did not bother calling the number as all of my tax is done via an accountant.

Me too. Today I Had a voice message from Alexander stating the same stuff. Do we let the police know the number or are they already on to it. Number was (02) 6064 2059.

LOL I got to have fun with the Indian guy who answered the phone when I called the number back. he had no idea handle to handle the call. Absolutlely hilarious! sad tho that some people would get caught out by losers like these guys

Received call today. The cheek - a recorded message from what sounds like an American Educated Asian!!!

I just got a call Alexander Lee from the ATO saying I was being charged with tax evasion. I'm an accountant so had a laugh but seriously this is a scam, surprised there are so many complaints and they haven't shut these clowns down.

You would think that they would give up after all the publicity about this scam. Idiots.

Received a phone call from a person Alexander lee from ato talking like a robot.
He said there was going to be a warrant issued for my arrest for tax avoidance and tax evasion
I asked him his number but he did not stop barking, so i told him to F*** O.
All should Inform ATO of this scammers.

Same here The taxation department would not contact you in this manner it is a scam beware!!!

I also received the message this morning with the caller claiming to be Alexander Lee from the ATO and threatening court and a warrant to be issued if I don't call him back.

recorded call saying i commited tax fraud and to call a number back otherwise a warrant will be sent out.

Got a call from the same as described above threatening to take me to court.

Had a call also from Alexander 'the wanker' lee. This guy is real tugga and scammer.......... Weak as piss and hides behind a phone !!! Don't get suck into this parasite !!

They phoned my mobile number at 11:30 am today 3 August 2017, recorded message from Alexander Lee, and he spoke about warrant etc for tax fraud, local district court, need to immediately return call to (02) 6064 2059 etc etc. Yes, my tax is done through an agent, and I don't share this mobile no. with the ATO. I would NEVER give any clues about my TFN to anyone. This has to be a scam.
