I rang this number back as they left TWO very long winded messages to say that there was going to be a warrant issued for my arrest for tax avoidance and tax evasion, and i should ring them to avoid this. I asked why would this happen as I was uptodate with my tax billsm his rude reply was that I must give him my name and the last digits of may tax file number. I so no and he got angry and hungup on me. Wish I could make him as angry as I am

Had the same message left on my answering machine today. Have rang ATO and given them the phone number for them to pass onto the police. May be a long shot but hopefully they may be able to track them down.

I just received the same recorded message from 'Alexander Lee' this number was (03) 4309 4093. He'd like me to return his call, I won't but I did report to Scamwatch.

Man with accent said his name is Alexander Lee from ATO. He left a message said theres a complaint against me for tax invasion. "Do not disregard this message!" Gaaaah 😡😡 i work full time for a living and pay too much tax to fund free loaders!! Low life!!

i received a call, told me that he is Alexander lee from ato, i need to contact this number for an impending worrand

Just received a message from Alexander Lee, said he was from the taxation office and that there was a warrant about to be issued for tax fraud against me, did not bother calling the number back nor did I answer it, just let it go to message bank as I had a feeling about it. Do these people have nothing better to do?

His new number is (03) 8594 2238 he sounded Indian. ( i read above one person said he had an American accent, to him this time he sounded Indian) so he must be putting on accents. who knows.

Had the exact same thing happen to me today (18 September), that same baboon left a message on my answering machine. He said 'This is to let you know that a complaint has been issued under your name for tax evasion. Do not take this message lightly and call me as soon as possible as this matter will be taken to the local court and warrant will be issued. Please call (03) 8594 2238. My name is Alexander Lee and I'm calling from Australian Taxation Office'. - Look out people another form of scam. First it was the Indians calling about car accidents now this guy who sounds Filipino with his crappy US accent. It started ever since these stingy corporates moved call centres to the third world countries. We should thank our crappy government for allowing this to happen, nothing better than selling out OUR PRIVACY!

I Received a phone call from Alexander Lee... the exact same message. Lucky I Heard about it on the radio.

Got 2 messages now from this oxygen bandit. Tried calling back to tell him to put the jug on, because im sure he'll be getting a visit from the Feds soon enough...alas it just rings out. ATO ... hmmm. I've called the tax office before, and anyone who has, knows you're in a vortex of press 2 for this and press 4 for that and then on hold for 3 years.

The call came from west Sydney.. Bankstown. Well, the latest number did. I've so far found 5 numbers these muppets use.

Seems to me they do their basic research add a little smoke and mirror. Grab a few bucks from the vulnerable.

Just received 2 phone calls on my mobile from idiot Alexander Lee from the ATO. Threatens that I have unpaid tax accounts and will issue a warrant if I don't call him back on (02) 8103 2059. Just reported Alexander Lee to the ATO.

got two calls from (03) 4309 4093 today from Alexander Lee from the ATO saying i was tax evading and that i need to call this number which i didnt take down lol.. but after he was done with his speech i just hung up

Recorded message and same name, Alexander Lee, with an American accent - actual voice on recording and not a computer voice. Different number came up though: (03) 4309 4093

Alexander Lee again. New phone number (02) 8103 2059. He started saying the same thing about fraud, etc then hung up on me when he found out we were an accountants office. Seriously!

I received a call from Alexander Lee from Tax Office, saying I have done some fraud and if I don't return a call to him at (03) 4309 4093, he will issue a warrant. Interestingly, the phone number had 'No Caller Id' and there has been no e-mail from Tax Office. There has been an increase of such calls over the last two years.
