These guys are hilarious. First it was "Jason O'Connor" ( a very un-Indian sounding name.... ) and now it is "James Appleton" ( also a very un-Indian sounding name...). Who next? Jason Bourne?? It's been a few months since they've called and it is so obviously a scam and I have never called them back but I plan to in a moment to have a laugh. Sad but some 'susceptible' people might fall for this scam and I feel sorry if they lose out / lose $$ in this scam. Should be reported to ATO and impersonating a public officer I'm sure is a Commonwealth offence.......

Received call in Gold Coast. Woman with very strong Indian accent saying exactly what's mentioned above. Amounts to scare tactics. Thank goodness for Websites like these. I wonder how many innocent people they scam.

I too had a call from (02) 6064 2058 this morning from someone who said they were from the tax office. They said I owed money from unpaid taxes from 2008 to 2013. I told the person that they could go to jail for this offence. I hung up and reported the incident to the Tax Office,

The ATO should take action!! WTF is wrong with them?

Had same occur today - tax fraud, lawsuit, etc etc. Don't pick up unless you know the number. This call went straight to message bank.

Had this message today left on my house phone. Was VERY suspicious at the fact they didn't the name of the person they were trying to contact. Could also barely understand her with her very strong accent pretty sure it was an african accent and saying her name is Jennifer Smith! alarm bells rang when I thought smith is a very common last name.. Thank god for websites like this to confirm my suspicions.

I have also received the same caller who left message on my answering machine Indian. The same thing, from the tax department, it is strange how no name was left and who the message was for. Urgent to call back regarding a tax fraud to this number. This time she had called 3 times, within minutes of each other. She is obviously in a hurray to drum up some business.

Happen to us today. Knew it was a scam. ATO never deal with fraud this way.

Received a message on landline from female with strong accent stating that I am being investigated for tax fraud. Requested to call (02) 6064 2058 urgently. Finished with "have a nice day". Obviously a scam.

Same ATO fake barely comprehensible bollax... Male Indian trying to sound western with slight American accent....really....3 times in 4 days... Wtf

And yes I'm on the Do Not Call register as well...

How about our govt or the telco we all pay sort these idiots out !!!

14/04/2016. three voicemails within three hours. Female called (Indian accent). Stated "from tax office, Very serious fraud, imminent warrant for arrest by police. Very sure to mention that I must not ignore this message. No name given, must call back immediately on (02) 6064 2058. Then a Have a good day message."
My concern is what if my mother (elderly with dimentia) recieves this invasive call when I am not around?

Recieved a message on home phone, Asian accent. Did not state who they were after. Said there was 'a legal, lawsuit against your name issued by the ato concerning a tax fraud' and said 'Don't disregard the message it is very serious and transentive' He repeated the number to call him on and said goodbye and have a great day!!!

Just had the same call. No name but warrant for tax fraud(surely the tax department would know who they are chasing). Tried calling back but because my number comes up as private answer and immediately hang up. Obviously trying to scam bank details. Some people are scum that should be put down in the cruelest possible way!!!

A female with a very strong Indian accent left an "urgent" message with regards a lawsuit with the ATO and an imminent police arrest warrant for our arrest. Asked us to call her back and to "have a great day 😂

Had three messages left while I was away for two days, a female, possibly Indian accent re tax evasion, legal proceedings etc., the same as above comments; It appears they are targeting Tasmania at the moment so please be aware, it is a scam!! Any authentic authority would inform you by letter, regarding a debt, not by telephone or mobile.

I just received a message from a woman with a strong accent, didn't state her name, saying that a legal lawsuit was against my name (didn't specify whose name) and there was a warrant out from the ATO in regards to tax fraud! I have paid my taxes and so has my husband, so I am guessing its a spam call

Have had this call via a voicemail on my land line. This is the fourth time this message has been left in the past month. This time was a female with a very heavy indian accent, however the previous calls have been from a male with a heavy indian accent. I am sick of these messages.
