left me a message and stated that they had a legal lawsuit against my name, and there was a warrant out from the ATO in regards to tax fraud from what I could understand - the woman was speaking with a very strong accent

left a message similar to what everyone got. Call back but did go through. Probably, due to my phone number was hidden.

I just had this call and this is 100% a scam.

I have reported them to the ATO.

When I called back the number they answered and as soon as I challenged them trying to elicit who they were they automatically hung up and block my number.

Total scam ignore these people.

My sister worked at ATO and said no one rings you regarding these issues. Being on DNC register plus private number and the sh*te still comes through. I also had another call - private number (only answered because I changed my Mum to a silent number) - stating I am eligible for 50% tax rebate . Gave them a hard time by asking lots of questions such as have never heard of the scheme they were talking about and hung up and they tried a couple times after but I ignored it. Just sick of all the calls coming through.

Maggots called leaving the same message of a law suit and tax fraud and to call back on (02) 6064 2058. Should have their tongue cut out and TOWRAG branded into their face.

Scammers, big time! Called my mom, told her she's been tax evading for five years, and is going to court. And she's going to be arrested in half an hour unless she pays upwards of $5k. They seemed legit and had a badge number and everything. If you get a call or missed call from them, do not answer! If you are worried about your tax, call the ATO number from their website

Had a call this morning that scared the hell out of me, apparently there was a warrant out for my arrest for tax fraud. Took guy with an accents name and supposed I.D. number. At this stage the conversation was getting quite heated. He began to threaten me.
Immediately called the tax office. Its a big scam. Phew. Very relieved.

As above - left a message stating that the call was important, do not ignore, as the matter was a serious one of tax fraud. Again the woman spoke with a strong Indian accent

Just had this call come through and immediately googled the number which I suspected of being scam. The number must have been already reported but it seems like still going through. Blocked the number for now.

I have also recieved a call claiming I have tax avoidance behaviour and a warrant will be issued for my arrest. Phone back do not disregard phone call.

About time the police closed this down, i had the same scam ....not a good one for the gullible...lucky i am not stupid

Had the call today saying I owed $8900 had to pay it by 4 pm today or the police will come and lock me up tonight and go to court tomorrow if I didn't pay and wanted me to borrow money off friends to pay it the c*nt had me in tears ....
