Another scam but slightly more sophisticated. They call from private number then eventually left a message asking me to call back this number. Sounded official. I called back and a nicely spoken asian(?) voice babbled on about numbers and amounts that I owe. I went as far as confirming my name and D.O.B. (silly me) then I raised my suspicions with the caller. None of it made sense. I explained that my bills are automatically deducted. He babbled on that I needed to set up a deduction and pleaded with me to do it. Finally, I hung up but nearly sucked in.

I say to these moron scammers -by all means, keep calling me since I won't ever take yr calls, and your constant and confusing misrepresentation of being from my energy provider just gives me a basis for extending due payments with my real energy provider who may also be trying to contact me. I mean, if the co. getting defrauded won't do anything about it, they are going to have to put up with late payments as I sort out which call is real and which isn't. So thanks to the scammers!! DO NOT TAKE THESE CALLS!

Got multiple calls today from an incomplete number (private number in other words) in which all of I left for voicemail. An automated voice stated the call was from energy Australia and it was an urgent call for me. When they stated my voice, it sounded even more automated. Nice try scammers, if this was legit, I’d be hearing a human voice, even better being and Australian accent and a real non private phone number.

A woman who called herself 'Ces' just called and claimed to be from Energy Australia - told me I had a credit from a previous account and started to ask me to confirm my details. Told her as if I"m going to give you personal information to an unsolicited phone call. She gave me a phone number to call back. It was this one 1800 336 611. Instead of using it, I found the phone number for Energy Australia enquiries. Surprise - they told me my previous account has a nil balance. It's a scam! Look out and be warned.

Got a call from "EnergyAustralia" on 9422 2400 advising I had a credit they wished to refund credit from my gas account (I closed my account 12 months ago). Asked for my DOB to confirm my identity. They quoted my old account number. Asked them to write to me with details of credit, they said they still needed to confirm it was me before doing so. When I declined to give DOB they gave me 1800 336 611 number to call back. A search for the number got me to this website. Nice try scammers!

Same as everyone else. Victorian number, leaves message saying ring Energy Australia on 1800 number urgently. No name, reference number etc. Ignored.

it looks like a scam call and left the message in my phone. i did google up the number so i don't need to call this scam.

Got a scam call asking me to call this number on 1800 336 611. They legitimately leave calls on my message bank every few days for different people, it's rather maddening. And quite frankly, I don't even pay for any electricity where I am, so I know I'm covered.

Just received a call from 1800 366 611. Energy Aust. My bills are up to date. Like most I wait for a voice mail from a private number. Too many scams numbers to block on my phone

These "people" are damn frustrating, desperate to scam anyone and everyone. Once they get your number, they constantly ring from call centres. I presume they ring from overseas. The number comes up as private number, so my call blocking does not work. Sometimes these "people" ring 5 times a day and mostly don't leave a message. They started with an automated message, that my voice mail only partially recorded stating my name and saying they are from Energy Australia. Today an actual person rang and left a voice message, my name and the number to call back is 1800 336 611. Ironically these people have rung MANY TIMES up before saying they are from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO ) and threatening legal action , and using 1800 336 611 as the contact number as well. So its the same people ringing. Like a previous entry mentioned. these are Bloody scamming scumbags. To make me feel better, I will probably need to pick up one of these callers and abuse them or get my telco to trace these callers, at the source when they ring, which I believe they can do.

Energy Australia Customer Service/Accounts

Someone keeps calling my mobile from (03) 9422 2400. The message left only states a phone number 1800 336 611) and nothing else. I'm not in the habit of making calls to someone I don't know. If it's a legitimate call, they should leave some more details (e.g. who they are, why they are calling). It's either poor business or a scam.

I received a text message with 'have you overlooked payment of your EnergyAustralia bill? To make a payment or discuss futher please call us on 1800 336 611. Your reference 6149599111." do not ring as i feel this is a scam, i rang as i was unsure what it was and they asked for phone number and birthdate, now i am stressing if i should change my phone number.

This number is a scam! DO NOT give out any of your personal information to anybody from this number. They may be pretending to be from an electricity company, claiming you have an overdue bill that requires payment

I have had this scam call each day. I didn't take any notice of the first call but I decided I better call the number today. I also didn't put in an account number or press hash but quick as an indian answered and asked for my account number when I said I have no idea the call was cut off from her end. I have to say with 2 calls in 2 days I thought there must have been something wrong with my account that I didn't know about. These scammers are going to be the death of me

Had a missed call from (03) 9422 2400, message stated to call 1800 336 611.. Looked up numbers prior to calling and are NOT affiliated with Energy Australia . Rang energy Australia to which they confirmed numbers are a scam and to not give any details.(der). Rang numbers back and played for ages, giving false account numbers , credit cards, misleading info. I had plenty of time to scam the scammers..

I have been receiving these calls and texts for a couple of weeks now from both the 1800 number and the landline number. It's such an invasion of privacy and so annoying!

3 calls in under 15 mins 2 x private then 1 from (03) 9422 2400. They left voicemail telling me to call the 1800 number. Pfffft. I know my bills are paid so won't be calling no number back. If you are overdue on anything, you would normally get reminders in post/ email. Scam for sure!

Do you people actually PAY YOUR BILLS?? Just a thought LMAO!??
