I was called by (02) 9459 8000 on a Sunday and he had a really thick Indian accent I told him NEVER call on sunday and I believe this is a scam and he kept arguing with me then I told him to go away and I hung up and he rang me back . I hung up again and then I was sent a message to say that my complaint was closed.
They gave me the 132200 to call and when I call it it asks me my date of birth etc which I will not give and hang up. Someone is obviously stealing my details from NBM complaints is anyone else having this issue

Caller: “David Williams”
A call came from a private number, not displayed. The caller had an Indian accent. Said his name was David Williams. Said he was from Telstra, Melbourne, and that 7-8 devices were connected to our internet, slowing our speed and infecting our devices with viruses. I said we do not have a Telstra account. He said Telstra was responsible for all internet traffic. He gave me his details and said they could be verified by calling 132200. He wanted me to go to my PC and open Chrome, presumably to take control of my computer. I said call back later. Sounded like a scam.

Guy called Austin Jeams or James said our telstra internet service had been hacked and gave me 13 22 00 to call him back on. I called and its a genuine telstra number but were too busy to take my call and suggested i text them via the app and then hung up on me (so then i really knew it was telstra for the great customer service lol). Anyway chatted with them via website and they checked our account and no one from telstra called us and said they never would just call us for this type of issue. Had a prior caller with same deal but gave me another number for telstra which answered immediately by a real person so i knew that it was not a genuine telstra number. Just rotten scammers.

I'm sure this is a scam. I'm not Telstra customer. She didn't know my names. Two days previously I reminder her I'd been told my internet would be cut off in half an hour. Worrying that people out there are scamming innocent people.

Caller: 132200 supposedly NBN checking download of unwanted programs and messages
Rang on a Saturday afternoon and said she was checking a complaint about the above and asked me to turn on my PC so it could be checked. As nobody here has made such a complaint, I asked for her name and a call back number for when I had the PC switched on. She gave the number as 132200 and her name as Jenny de Souza. She had an Asian or Indian accent.

Having received over the last 7 – 8 months regular calls at various times of day advising they are calling from Telstra stating that my Internet service is about to be disconnected and I need to talk to a technician- press 1 to talk to the technician. I do normally request a call back number which at that point they normally disconnect. However today I was given the number 13 22 00. I have understood these very annoying calls are a scam.
