Caller: Supposedly telstra
One time PIN number etc ...call 132200 I you didn’t request the call. This is a scam, don’t call it back, not Telstra number
Telstra's general call number.
Guy, David, when pressed said from Melbourne Telstra. (I did give him options though - "Melbourne, Sydney etc") Wanting to talk about our internet! We are not with Telstra! Gave me this number which apparently is a Telstra number as I said I'd call back. Yeah, right :) Noted that he did not give me his surname so I could check it out properly.
Caller: Text message
Received multiple text messages like this....each with a different “one-time code.
Hi, your Telstra one-time code is 598214. If you didn't request this, call us on 13 2200.
This is scam, Telstra's number is 132000 not 132200
Delete and do not response.
Do not call/contact this number: 132200, they are scammers.
Supposedly from Telstra, telling me my internet service has problems. I do not have a Telstra account. The caller wanted to guide me through a process on a computer. Totally a scam to infect your computer with a link to hack into your computer. Can the government stop these scam callers from calling? Older people can easily become victims as they are not computer savvy.
Some guy with an Indian accent called me at 8:00 p.m. on a week night. He said my internet was going to to be turned off. I asked him for his name, employee number and a callback number. He said his name was "John David" and he said his employee ID was D833495... but then he gave me 13 22 00 instead of the correct Telstra number.. So I said: "Oh.. 13 22 00? Okay.. well I guess you'll have to turn off my internet then. BUH BYE" Caller: (02) 9631 2841
Called stating that they are Telstra and wants to support as my internet is used by someone abd wanted to check through pc. On asking to provide call back number gave me 132200.
This is the telstra main number. not a scam I got a call from a random number in Sydney saying they were telstra just as i was going to bed. They were asking for my details to close a case and if I didn’t give them details they would continue to keep calling me. Thick Indian accent saying her name was Monica said she had all my details already and proceeded to send me a blank email from enquires @ support-team.telstra.com i was not sure so I called them through the app and got another heavy Indian accent lady from Melbourne who told me it was not a scam. I then received a call from the Monica the original lady and it turns out it was Telstra. Apparently they all have different numbers. But i had no problem in the first place? Why would they call me so many times? Why cant they verify whether it is them properly? Just be cautious and make sure they don’t want anything from you. Caller: Indian POS
I went as far as going to this website validator.w3.org I guess is to get access to my data. I was scammed once and is painful.. And I thought It will never happen to me.
Caller: A guy who claimed from Telstra with Telstra ID TLD1198K
He wanted me to run eventvwr. and i refused to follow the instruction. seems funny
Had the same issue just now. Caller provided a Telstra Id number of TSL60621 Caller: Jessica William Employee number TLD8600552
I called Telstra and they told me that no one called me today.. She also gave me the Address for Telstra in Melbourne. The phone number she gave was 132200.. saying that my internet is not secure and there are scammers trying to use my Internet, when In told her that my internet is password protected she told me that means nothing and scammers can get into anyone's internet and she also got cranky with me for saying that..I told her I would call Telstra myself and ask if there is a problem, she said go ahead and she would call me on Monday....Be Aware they are out there....
Most people in call centres don't give you their surname - I think it's policy, or something. I received two calls today. One call was from a woman saying she was from Telstra and that I have a problem with my internet, I said I don't have a problem with my internet and she raised her voice insisting that I have a problem with my internet - "Mam I am from Telstra and I am telling you, you have a problem with your internet" I told her I don't have an account with Telstra and by the way this call is being recorded at which point she hung up.
The other call was about 10 min later and it was a man this time, and he said he was from Telstra, I said I don't have an account with Telstra, I asked him what his name was and he said Kevin Luis and I said Spanish? and he said yes so I started speaking to him in Spanish (various language lessons have paid off over the years), he hesitated and said I beg your pardon Mam, I asked you don't speak Spanish? and he said we are not authorised to speak any other language but English.
I asked him what is the Telstra address and phone number he was calling from, he said 242 Exhibition St Melbourne Victoria and phone number 13 22 00.
I also told him the call was being recorded and he kept on for a bit more until he got fed up and hung up.
Is there someone out there who can get rid of these people by putting them in jail once and for all. A lot of people would be very grateful.
I looked up 13 22 00 and apparently it is a Telstra general enquiries number. I think it's a scammer though, who gives out a legit number before hanging up. If anyone phones back on Telstra General Enquiries how on earth will you be put through to some foreign person with an unlikely name and a thick accent? Got email today which is from a Spanish source, claiming that my AutoPay payment for my Telstra account had failed, and to contact them immediately on 132200.
Not a Telstra contact number, and I do not use PayPal.
Caller: I called this number
Spoke to a lady with a heavy indian accent who tried to interrogate me then dropped the f word under her breath not sure what to make of it.
received a call through a private number, said something about technical difficulty impacting our area, when she requested for my private details, I was very alert about this, especially when she asked for my license detail. Do not give out any of your details as they are SCAMS Be careful everyone, the low-life on the end of this call tried to scam my 90 yr old mother. Luckily I was there with her at the time, I let him go on with his speel, he was pretty convincing until the point where he started to ask for driver licence or passport ID, I just hung up on him. Very thick phillipino accent.
