Same as David. I used to work for Suncorp so I know the system. They are very careful about scammers. I checked with the main office and they confirmed the call and email. It comes up as AAI which is the the main umbrella company that all the Suncorp Insurance companies are under in Australia and NZ. Just in case I went through the main Suncorp switch, to do all this.

I rang back on the official 13 22 44 number and eventually got transferred to a house insurance premium remediation team member who explained what was going on. A refund for a calculation error is on my way! In these days of domestic violence and relatiionship problems, they are deliberately being non descript in their messages. They were all understanding of my scepticism leading me to ring them on the number that I know.
And there is a "lucky" team member called Amy!!

Received a phone call from Centralised Remediation and I asked for a follow-up email after they requested my banking details... Both the phone call and email didn't sit well with me, so I forwarded the email to security @ suncorp.com.au to verify, they came back and confirmed it as genuine, so rang GIO and asked to be put through to the remediation team.

The call is valid. I was called re an issue in insurance calc by AAI as underwriter for Suncorp and Refund Due. I called Suncorp as my renewal was due anyway, they put me through to the team at AAI centralised remediation to process the refund. This was 2 years after the error - which is why Suncorp didn't handle directly. Also AAI works with AAIMI, Shannons and others - so not just limited to one insurer.

I received a call from (07) 3732 2200 and was told that AAMI owes me about $5 and my bank account details are required for the money to be deposited. I asked for an email and got an email. The email was from an email address ending with aai.com.au (note NOT aami). I replied back and asked them to either send me a cheque or not call me again. AAMI sent me cheques before. If I do not receive a cheque, this is definitely a scam.

The below comment from pulfing is incorrect, especially noting they are from USA when this is in Australia. I work for Suncorp in the Insurance Sales line and can confirm this is the correct number for someone to call them. They work for AAI (Suncorp Group) so they do outbound calls for AAMI, Suncorp, GIO, Shannon’s, APIA, Bingle Insurances etc. They will always understand if you don’t feel comfortable providing details to them, so the best advice they will give you and I can give you, is call your insurance companies main number and they’ll happily transfer you to this department if that makes you feel more comfortable. The comment on the Cait U##### is a real suncorp employee number as Suncorp employees use U followed by 6 numbers

I received a call from a lady telling me that I had been overcharged on one of my Suncorp Insurance policies. The asked whether I would give them my BSB and account number over the phone for the refund ($5) and I told them NO. I had also received an email from them a couple of days earlier and ignored it as did not see suncorp name in the email address from the sender. I will call Suncorp using the Suncorp contacts (not the one she gave me or in their email).
