Caller: AAI Remediation Team This number is NOT a scam. I am an AAMI customer. I received a letter informing me that they have been unable to contact me and I was asked to call the Remediation Team on this number because I was owed money. I was immediately suspicious so called the usual number for AAMI. They verified that it was legitimate, and there was a note in the system on our record of this incident (ie that they tried to contact us via email but was unsuccessful, hence the letter). Different number to the usual as the Remediation Team is for the AAI group (which includes AAMI). PS The original email may have been junked because it also doesn't come from AAMI per se (it's once again a Remediation Team @ AAI or similar apparently).

This number was in an email supposedly from Suncorp saying that they had not applied a multi-policy discount and needed to discuss. Called the number on the Suncorp Webpage and they advised me to forward the email to security and scam watch.

I received a legitimate looking email from APIA insurance saying I was entitled to a multi-policy discount which wasn't applied due to an error. The sender's email address looked legitimate.and the content of the email looked and sounded very convincing. It even used my full name! The only thing that made me suspicious was that we only had contents insurance with APIA. Glad I came to reerseaustralia to check the number quoted in the email.

Likely a Scam Received an email from CentralisedRemediation @ aai.com.au, with a policy and ref number in title. Claiming lm entitled to a refund due to l didn't receive my multi policy discount. They want to payback approx $30 but require my BSB bank account number. They are very convincing and claimed they can't return payment via cheque or original credit used. I checked with Suncorp, they are not aware of this refund and the policy number belongs to another person or business. It's looking like a Scam be Very Aware

Received a phone call from Centralised Remediation and I asked for a follow-up email after they requested my banking details... Both the phone call and email didn't sit well with me, so I forwarded the email to security @ suncorp.com.au to verify, they came back and confirmed it as genuine, so rang GIO and asked to be put through to the remediation team.

Caller: AAI The call is valid. I was called re an issue in insurance calc by AAI as underwriter for Suncorp and Refund Due. I called Suncorp as my renewal was due anyway, they put me through to the team at AAI centralised remediation to process the refund. This was 2 years after the error - which is why Suncorp didn't handle directly. Also AAI works with AAIMI, Shannons and others - so not just limited to one insurer.

I received a call from (07) 3732 2200 and was told that AAMI owes me about $5 and my bank account details are required for the money to be deposited. I asked for an email and got an email. The email was from an email address ending with aai.com.au (note NOT aami). I replied back and asked them to either send me a cheque or not call me again. AAMI sent me cheques before. If I do not receive a cheque, this is definitely a scam.

Caller: Suncorp Group Remediation Team The below comment from pulfing is incorrect, especially noting they are from USA when this is in Australia. I work for Suncorp in the Insurance Sales line and can confirm this is the correct number for someone to call them. They work for AAI (Suncorp Group) so they do outbound calls for AAMI, Suncorp, GIO, Shannon’s, APIA, Bingle Insurances etc. They will always understand if you don’t feel comfortable providing details to them, so the best advice they will give you and I can give you, is call your insurance companies main number and they’ll happily transfer you to this department if that makes you feel more comfortable. The comment on the Cait U##### is a real suncorp employee number as Suncorp employees use U followed by 6 numbers

Caller: Suncorp Remediation Team I received a call from a lady telling me that I had been overcharged on one of my Suncorp Insurance policies. The asked whether I would give them my BSB and account number over the phone for the refund ($5) and I told them NO. I had also received an email from them a couple of days earlier and ignored it as did not see suncorp name in the email address from the sender. I will call Suncorp using the Suncorp contacts (not the one she gave me or in their email).
