Rang about a motor vehicle accident.
I told him he had the wrong number, this is the condom puncture repair service and we don't have accidents.
He hung up. Obviously no repairs needed...

They called my work place, this is not the first time. Sick of these scammers, someone should be able to track them down and charge them with fraud or something. What if they call someone vulnerable to their lies and cheat them out of money? They all have foreign accents.

Young man from 'The Motor Accident Department'. With a some time to waste, I asked him if it was a Federal or State government department. He said it was a private company so I told him it was illegal in Australia to call themselves a 'Department'. He pressed on regardless asking if anyone had been in a motor accident. Told him what I've told the numerous previous callers: yes, the dog was driving, he was drunk, and he's still too traumatised to speak about it. Silence. I hung up.

I had a phonecall on my landline the other day. I was suspect that it would be a scam as 99.9% of people ring my mobile.
He started the phonecall with you had an accident a while ago.
My response was " YES! I died ".
His response was " OH! MY GOD "
He then started talking again.
I repeated " I Died. I was killed ".
His response was " OH! MY GOD, OH! MY GOD, OH! MY GOD ".
I hung up then. I would love to know how long it took for the penny to drop?

I have now for 2 days been receiving calls from(08) 9467 2654 and 0497 251 424 claiming to be a company for a car accident they say I was in. My son was in the accident and when they asked for my name and all details I asked well what is my name address and car involved in the accident as well the date and time it occurred. They said they could give those details and that I had to give them details. Then I gave them a fake address and birth date and they said the details were correct. Also the dead giveaway was they called my on my work landline I have my mobile as the main point of contact for everything

Caller: (08) 9467 7796 and a robot left a message

I was just called by (08) 9467 7796 and a disguised voice (one of those automated robot type voices) left a message telling me they were from the ATO telling me that there was a court case issued against my name and that if i didnt' call them back immediately then an arrest warrant would be issued in my name.
What a joke

I just hope that these idiots get caught before it actually scares someone into calling them and handing over money or credit card details or anything else significant

I just got a call this morning saying I have committed Tax Fraud, and that a legal case has been me against me . And I should call a XXX number back for further details. Good thing the lady on the XXX number told me its probably a fraud and to ignore it.

They say there’re from tax department and that I have committed tax fraud and if I don’t contact them they will “ get me arrested”! It’s an electronic female American voice. Who’s fraud??

This has been going on for ages. As it is an (08) number, surely (with Telstra’s help) some South Australian or Federal agency can track the number and charge those responsible.

CTP Motor Accident scam. Gave a whole heap of bogus info to keep them on the phone as long as possible but told them I would not give my name, address or DOB over the phone on an unsolicited phone call. Advised that I would consider providing the information if they sent me an email request and provided them with the SA Police Enquiries email address! Had them on the phone for over 20 minutes to waste as much of their time as possible...
