scammer calling about a fake car accident

Female voice saying from accident investigation.
I hung up, will add to blocked call list.
Pain in the arse.

Someone just called saying they had compensation as I was not at fault in a car accident. Couldn't tell me the date of the accident though! Foreign accent.

another car accident scam, apparently I had a car accident recently and he was wanting to know if I got my insurance money???? I asked him the name of the company and because of the language barrier I could not or was not meant to understand what he said!!!! I asked where he was located and the answer was Perth, so I said I don't think so, and then told him I believed it was a scam and that he should get a proper job and earn his money honestly!!! I got to hang up first!!! so that number will now be blocked on my phone which is a private phone number!!!

Car accident "scam"

Called home number at 2.48pm on Tuesday,Didn't recognise the number so I didn't answer.Obviously the same scammers but with a different phone number re the Car accident that called me previously & I laughed at them & hung up. I would like to know how the hell they manage to get what looks like an Australian phone number ?

Caller hung up. Think it was same mob I gave mouthful too. They ring back and hang up when I answer. I've now block that number.

Had a guy call with an accent claiming someone at this number had been involved in a car accident in the past 12 months. The number he called was my mums and she doesn't have a license of motor vehicle. I gathered it was a scam call so I asked for more details and he couldn't proved any. Promptly told him to F*^% off. Thankfully I was here to answer cause my mum is elderly and would've freaked her out. These people are heartless bastards and our country really needs to do something about it.

Called home landline from (08) 9467 2654- Indian male voice said he was from the accident insurance litigation company and asked if someone at this phone number had had an accident in the past 12 months
I said no and hung up

I told the Indian guy on the phone that I knew this was a scam and not to call me again and hung up. He rang back straight away and very angrily said "how do you know this is a scam?". I cracked up.

Same as all the others. I think they have hit the office number 10+ times in the past week.

This number showed up on our phone as a blocked call. We have a Telstra Call Guardian phone set (3 cordless phones plus base station). It blocks everything that is not saved in its phone book. If the caller does not record their name it doesn't even ring. It just logs the call and we can check it later or just delete it. The set cost about $150 and we have not had to answer one single scammer or telemarketer since we plugged it in. There is a way to stop these time wasters and that's how it's done.

As others have said they rang about a car accident "this year or last year "maybe someone hit in back " but couldn't ask for person by name and very vague about supposed accident... so told her couldnt understand her and I hung up, and like others I called back and got answering service with no company name.

I've had calls from this number and (08) 9258 7863. Both times I answered with "Telstra technical support Bec speaking" and both times they hung up. We are getting so many of these calls, I report and report them and nothing happens. It's getting tiresome.

I reported scam phone calls to Telstra. Phone block and trace set up. Get scam call - take note of time, date and phone number then press recall button and hang up. Next time that number calls they are blocked and can't get through. Telstra tracks number and cancels it.

Yes, the old "car accident" scam

Male caller could hardly understand asking me if we had had a car accident in the last past year. I said no. He said are you sure. I still said no. He then said sorry for the inconvenience, but stayed on the line till i hang up on him.
