I get calls from (07) 5567 0893 almost every day, sometimes more than once a day, at virtually all hours of the day. I NEVER pick up but they don't seem to get the message which seems to suggest there isn't anyone at the other end of the line, just a computer. Telemarketers are a scourge and have led to me basically ignoring my landline and only answering calls on my mobile. One of these days the telemarketing disease is going to cost lives because older people are so wary of answering their phones that they may end up ignoring calls that could have medical implications.

I tried to buy this phone late last week. There is a single unit and a twin pack on the website. I rang the 1800 number to order, and the (overseas) Telstra representative said that the single unit (the $48 unit) is out of stock with no due date for new stock, as it has been end of lifed. The double pack is showing as an end of life unit with no more stock coming in. There is nothing else available with the Guardian feature except for a tethered phone, which I don't want as we need wireless handsets.

I receive calls almost daily from this number but have not been answering landline from months now because of them being from call centres. Friends know to ring me on mobile.

The call rang out this morning while we looking for the phone. We have a Uniden Xdect 8155 phone which allows numbers to be blocked while the phone is ringing by pressing a button, if you know the number in advance, or after the caller disconnects by manually entering the number. They are now on the list.

I read that HAMAS have been diverting charitable donations to military use.
Don`t call me.

There's a big difference between charities and Indian call centres trying to sell you solar panels.

I have had 5 missed calls today on my home phone which this number was one of them. I do have my number on the do not call register yet I keep getting hassled by every charity as they are exempt. So what's the point of the register ! I don't know if changing my number to private will be any use but worth giving it a try.

Why doesn't everyone take a leaf out of their book. If you get free calls on your mobile, make sure you block your own number before calling them and ring them every single day and do what they do, either say nothing or keep hanging up on them!!!

Had this call a number of times claiming from the Apple Support Group, on behalf of the Heart Foundation, wanting to know if I would doorknock 15 houses in my street. Has anyone else had this type of call?

Got a call this morning from this number, claiming to be from the Apple Support Group, on behalf of the Hart Foundation, wanting to know if I could help them by doorknocking the first 15 houses in my street, for the Heart Foundation. Has this happened to anyone else?

thanks for this Evelyn. I just did the same (not with Tracy though) and the woman I spoke to seemed pleasant enough. Said she'd remove my number, as requested. I hope it works! :-)

I just called them back, and politely requested they take my number off their list - which they said they'd do. I hope it works - otherwise I'll get Optus to block them. I've done that before with another nuisance number.

Apple Marketing Group! The loser was talking to one of her work mates even after I answered and said hello. What a loser.

had 2 missed calls from this number and like another poster, I don't answer numbers I don't recognise but check them here, before blocking. Like many others we are on the DNC register too but still get these pests calling. I have just blocked the number on my windows smart phone. Blocking numbers should be possible on any smart phone and not only android or apple.
