I had to come on here to search this number I have had so many phones from all sorts of people claiming to be from Prime amazon saying I had made a purchase do I want to cancel I don't have a prime amazon account... or I made a purchase on ebay which I simply log on to check for any history purchases made nothing out of the ordinary... among others so I hung up I have never heard of them it because it sounded new I hung up an blocked an immediately came to search.

They called my mobile. If they are the Queensland RFB how do they even know which State I'm in??

I answered. No one spoke. I hung up and blocked the number.

It's a scam forget it and block the number.

Wow I've read all the number complaints above going back to 2015!! I just received a call from this unknown/unsolicited number: (07) 5480 1369 (came up as from Gympie, QLD). I have now blocked and deleted.

I know they are a worthy cause but I will never give to charities who cold call.
I have asked to be removed from their database but it never happens.
They use the charity exemption to avoid the do not call list.

This call is legit. Contacted RFBAQ and below is their response.
"I can confirm that (07) 5480 1369 is the outbound number for our fund-raising call centre based in Gympie Queensland and we are currently calling for our Art Union 88. We generally make two attempts to make contact, but don’t leave messages. If you have any business phone numbers that you would like us to remove from our calling lists, please advise and I will do so for you. If you need any further information, please contact me."
This came from the RFBAQ Contact Centre Senior Supervisor.

I give up, people are dumb like sheep. This number has been around on these reports since 2011 at least. Don't you think the Fire Brigade would change the number IF they solicit funds via phone. People are stupid otherwise it would be altered as scammers do, but it must be doing just great !!. Just block it! be kind to your Bush Fire people when they are about in Malls etc. Plus they do get help via our Council

Used to work in the RFBAQ call centre in Gympie at one point. They're definitely real and not a scam, a simple google search will show you their address. You can also get their ABN etc.

Rings and when I answer no one's on the other end. Rural fire brigade. I refuse to buy tickets now because of the constant phone calls with no reply.

That they called me suggests a high likelihood of a scam or worse. I am deaf and do not take calls or give out my number.
