Caller: Said he was from Suncorp Answered phone he said he was from Suncorp and said the call would be recorded was that alright (this is what Suncorp usually asks) then said they needed to verify who I was before they continued and asked for my phone number! I said "the number you just called me on, what sort of question is that?". Then he asked what my name was so I gave him my first name only and asked what he was calling me about. He said I can't tell you until I have verified who you are. So I told him Suncorp NEVER ask for the phone number they have dialled me on and they will say what they are calling about at the beginning of the call and then verify. This dude refused to give me anything, he just said I am from Suncorp, so I said "you telling me you are from Suncorp does not prove you are from Suncorp so unless you tell me what this is about I am not telling you anything. He wouldn't so I hung up. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION! It is clearly a scam, as I have had alot of dealings with Suncorp recently and this was not legit!!

Scam call, Aussie accent - said they were from an insurance company calling about 'an incident' but refused to tell me anything until I gave them all my details. I assume they've bought stolen data from real insurance companies and are trying to prey on people through that.

I just received a call and the caller said he were from AAMI. He started asking all sorts of personal questions about my claim and who I was and I told him that I had already provided all the relevant information and paid the excess and that I did not know who he was and why he was calling and that I wasn't going to give all of my personal information to him over the phone. He then said - oh ok and hung up. SPAM!!!

Caller: (07) 3051 8500 Got a call, My phone said Queensland Number at the time. A guy with a thick accent and I could hardly understand him. Said he was from Shannon’s Insurance about a recent claim. He had details of the claim but during and after the call I had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right. I did recently make a claim through Shannon’s insurance and he knew the date of the accident and that I had given the other drivers details to Shannon’s and that the excess was wiped (Which I already knew as the other drivers admitted fault straight away and when I made the claim originally I was told at that point that I didn’t have to pay an excess). I had just woken up in a truck as I am an interstate truck driver and I was still half asleep. He caught me off guard. I gave him my email address, full name, Date of birth. Feel like such an idiot😖😖😖.

Caller: Aami Answered the phone, Aussie lady said she was from AAMI conducting an audit on previous claims. She brought up a claim I had for a water leak a few years ago, and said she could see that I was paid out for damaged contents but not for the repair of the pipe which I confirmed to be correct. She asked how much I paid a plumber to fix the leak itself , which I gave her the amount. She said she will re open my claim and process a payment for that amount to my nominated bank account (which I no longer use , has no money on it, but is still active) so I said yep that’s fine. Searched the number here and saw a lot of people think it’s a scam , I’ve actually checked my aami app and the claim from a number of years ago is now showing as active/re opened. I think it’s highly likely that this is legitimate now. On the off chance it is a scam , that bank account is empty anyway and if the money comes then that will prove its legitimacy. I am waiting for an email which she said I should receive confirming it all this morning. Wait and see.
