I got a similar SMS today but the text is slightly different.... (exact spelling/wording/punctuation given below to help with google searches)
"Your item is coming today. If nobody's home to sign, we'll take it to a local Post Office for collection. Tracking details: https://mypo.st/7GCvBAF4eNk."
This is funny because I have a PO Box and all my mail goes there automatically plus I never give out my mobile number when purchasing stuff so this is obviously a scam.
Note however that the phone number was masked with "AusPost" and the number is not in my contact list so it should show as an unknown number. Hmmm. I can't seem to uncover the actual phone number. If I try to add it to my spam numbers it comes up as 'invalid phone number'. The scammers are getting more covert in their criminal activities.
Never click any link with mypo.st in it because it's a scam!

egit / genuine number.
This number is an automated text from Star Track who is partnered with Aust Post. It's a delivery text message. It's about a parcel being delivered to your address today.
It asks for a choice (1, 2, or 3) 1= Leave at your address (if there is a safe place) & accept T&C's. 2 = Someone will be home. 3 = Take to Post Office if not home.

Further to my earlier comments it turned out that it was actually AusPost for real. They left a note in my front door to collect my parcel from my local Post Office Shop after 4.30pm, which I have done today. I gave feedback to the lady in the AusPost shop. Hopefully the tech people in AusPost will address the situation for future SMS's to customers.

I have 2 adult sons who regularly order items on line which get delivered to our house by Aust Post at least twice a week, and that does not include myself which I sometimes order on line too. As a result I know the AusPost delivery folks and I have never received an SMS before today. Therefore I confirm what other people have said that this is a SCAM. BEWARE PEOPLE - SCAM SCAM SCAM

Sent from Australia Post number. "Your item is coming today. Nobody home? Reply "Y" and we'll leave it at your address if there's a safe place. Tracking details: https://mypo.st/gOU3nz6kJtM".
I have checked the tracking number on Australia Post webpage and it does not exist!

Also, also, nothing ordered.

I've received several texts from this number, with the mypo.st etc link in each which all go to the Australia Post Tracking website.
All texts have been legitimate deliveries via Australia Post couriers.

This is definitely AusPost’s number but be careful. Sometimes scammers are able to show this number while sending text messages.
AusPost will only ever ask you to enter the number 1, 2 or 3. That’s it.
No yes or no questions. No links with your tracking details.
If you are told to click the link for https://mypo.st/(numbers and letters) DO NOT click the link.
Protect yourself and call on message them online. Stay safe.

Scam don’t believe these people saying it’s legit. All my genuine Auspost texts come from the same number, not this one!! And have different links

The latest on I’ve received (and three others that I’ve never clicked on) is a scam and says:
