Caller: Claims to be from Telstra
Claims to be calling to confirm my NBN installation appointment. I cancelled the NBN installation weeks ago, and told them I didn't want it. I confirmed it had been cancelled in a Telstra shop. They looked it up online, and confirmed it was cancelled.
I have been called twice since then "to confirm my appointment" and when I say I'm not having it connected, they ask for my DOB. Always men with an Indian accent. SCAM
More bullsh*t from supposed "Telstra employee" about an order to install NBN. We already have it. Pure and simple,,,, SCAMMERS! (usually Indian) Annoying Caller: Telstra NBN
Not a scam - its Telstra NBN department. Case manager for your booking until start to finish so you dont have to deal with multiple people
I asked them to verify my order number so I can ensure they are who they say they are and all information was correct.
As mention in another comment below (was an indian - so dont think its just a scam)
Telstra calling to confirm if the recently connected NBN service has been installed and advising that a survey would be issued shortly.
Called me to ask for my dad,but I own the NBN verification failed and said could. Not continue sounds very sketchy hope my account won't get hacked I called back number (03) 9319 2000 reached IVR for Telstra. Caller: Indian women claiming to be from telstra
Wanted my date of birth which is very suss called about our Melbourne NBN which we have never connected. We have recently moved to Qld and rang 7.30pm. Definitely a scam.....
Caller: (03) 9319 2000
I suspected it was a scam call like you all and hung up, I spoke to Telstra over the phone and in person and they confirmed it was legit and they were calling about connecting my NBN
Total scammer and love how scammers are writing positive reviews saying the number is legitimate. I have NBN already and they do not even address me by name, thank you for the laughs scammers 😂 Caller: Supriya
This number is legit, although they are a third party based in Indian, they have the authority to act on behalf Telstra.
Even though there are a lot of Indian people calling with scams I'm still surprised the majority of people providing reviews here say its definitely a scam. It makes me question how much racism is in play here.
To be fair to all the support technicians I had engage with connection the NBN, they had above average communication skills and were very competent. You are in good hands with them.
I worked in the IT industry for over tens years, met hundreds of Indian people through that period. The majority were excellent at their jobs. In my experience, Indian people will do the IT jobs many Australians don't want to do for very long. These support technians may get around 70-80k per year which is nothing in the tech industry. Any decent Aussie can make more and therefore pursue other career routes.
Caller: Indian or Pakistani
Most likely a scammer. Person claiming to be from Telstra wondering why the modem I ordered last month had not been activated. Told him I had not ordered anything and if he was genuine why has it taken Telstra more than a month to follow up. Told the caller I thought he was a scammer and would disconnect. He then rattled on about "this call is being recorded for training purposes........." Hung up. If he was from Telstra he would have called back. Very concerned he had my name and mobile number.
Caller: So called nbn technician.
Rang my husband and i non stop to book an appointment to have our nbn chevked. Very very suss.
ITS S SCAM!!!!
Someone saying they are from Telstra but funnily enough Telstra knows nothing about this phone number. All of those saying it is a Telstra number are quite obviously the scammers trying to fool people.
Keeps calling, knows our names. Very concerning, is it really telstra? scam i think = named people I dont know but knew some parts of my partners name and details Caller: (03) 9319 2000 (Telstra)
Called about rebooking an NBN technician (I had called last week asking to rebook but had to wait for my order to come through). They asked for full name and date of birth but I confirmed with a Telstra representative on the Telstra app if this is an official Telstra number and they told me that it was. NOT a fake Telstra person or scammer.
Said he was from Telstra and wanted me SPECIFICALLY TO SAY YES which i didn't
I could hear children playing in the background
Called at 5pm SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Caller: Somebody from Telstra NBN with a foreign accent.
Called my mobile then my landline and also a family members unlisted landline. Is this a scam?
Caller: Hello my name is Monty from telstra
This bloke calls to make your Telstra NBN appointment, I've never had someone call me so many times.
He is Indian and annoyed the sh*t out of me asking questions that started making suspicious that did he work for telstra......asks same questions every time he rings ....he already knows as I told him already.
