Apparently they will be calling on behalf of a government agency to survey our satisfaction with the agency.
They called my home phone - private # but left as confidential contact, for some places, but it should not be passed on.
Then they called my pre-paid mobile - the number is supposed to be private - I have not given it out ANYWHERE. When we are calling government agencies on private numbers they are retaining those numbers.

These ppl called my mobile phone twice on a SATURDAY afternoon from the two different phone numbers mentioned in previous comments. My landline is private and I've even registered it at donotcall.com.au, so now they call my mobile! I don't even know how they got my number. Very irritating especially getting calls like this on a weekend. Urghhh!!! I've just manually blocked these numbers on my phone so we'll see.

I have received MANY calls from these people, I have told them via both phone numbers AND via post that I wish to be NOT called.......... STILL multiple calls. If they call again they may learn the hard way why they shouldn't harass people.

Agree with all comments - call the number back - no connection: "connection to the area you are calling is temporarily unavaible". Definite sign that it is spam.

I am getting them again, have been on the DNCR for about 10 months, doesn't stop some of these private companies.
I'll email them, and if it happens again It's the ombudsman or possibly legal action.

The Gov' needs to put in place harsh monetary penalties, this is the only place it will hurt these annoying callers.

I just did that and asked for my number to be removed from all their lists and no calls from either of their numbers in future and they said they would do so immediately. Hopefully that will work!

I have received a call from these people - they are a Market Research Company and tried to con me into thinking they could ring me in spite of my Do Not Call Register Status. Very persistent and oppressive people. Make a note of the number they call from and the date of the call as if you tell them their calls are not wanted - or rather 'DO NOT CALL ME' they have to comply IT IS THE LAW and provided you have date, time and number you can seek help from a community lawyer or as another respondent has said you can take it to the Telecommunications Ombudsman - these people are parasites who do not understand a polite requests - don't be conned.

The person has called several times and it rings just three times. This is not fair as I was using my phone at the time to watch the 'Never ending Story" filmclip to the theme song by Limahla and it cut out so I had to watch it again, which was a let down as I only want ted to listen just once.

when they call again I'll answer but my responses will be crazy and futile like my previous comments about the film clip!

Thank goodness for this website. I pay $6 per month to Telstra for called ID display. I do not answer any incoming calls that I do not recognise. I check these unknown numbers on this website and add them to a list of telemarketing calls that I keep next to my phone. This list is growing by the day. Time for a revamp of the Do Not Call register to remove these numbers masquerading as charities when in fact they are nuisance calls.

Someone using this number (03) 9038 3887 has started to make regular calls. Each time they only ring for a short time. On checking the number missed on 11 Oct 2013 at 20:31 hours and on 13 Oct 2013 at 12:23 hours - it was this number on both occasions.

yes, frustrating, as what if someone who you know wants to truely get in touch and can not get through, or we stop picking up thinking it is these spammer callers...very frustration and just who does the government think they are - i want to know how they got our silent number!!! this has to be illegal somehow
