She new my name, but had no idea whether I was an existing ANZ banking customer.
The caller offered to set up a 1:1 meeting at an ANZ Branch of my choice to discuss my "banking" and if I want to change any of my "banking".
She was unable to elaborate on specific value from the discussion, therefore I declined the offer and was told to call 13 13 40 with any queries.

I believe this is SPAM.

This is ANZ. It's not a scam or illegitimate caller. They just wanna sell you sh*t because you approved of ANZ sending you promotional offers when you got ur account or loan or credit card. And for the record, all first tear ANZ call centres are now based overseas so it is not going to be an Australian caller.

Today is my second time to receive this number. I answered but I heard a unusual voice like a short music, then I quickly hang off. Weird...

Just received a call from this number. I answered, could hear voices in the background like a call centre and then it hung up without anyone saying anything.

What a depressing litany of poor business management from the people who hold OUR money! I was contacted by ANZ Outbound (this number) yesterday with regard to a loan application that is underway - tried to call it back today as they seemed very anxious that things be signed, but as others have noted, there is only an answerphone response. Was expecting a call back from ANZ Outbound today, but not really wishing to get it now. Will go into the branch and do things the old-fashioned way. Concerns me too that documents sent out by ANZ are not signed by a denoted employee, and the signature on a document isn't annotated. It could be signed by anyone - who may or may not have authority to sign. Purely poor business practice, from an organisation which can afford to improve its game. I was told I can go on the website and make a complaint, but frankly, who would listen?

Anz usually calls from a private number unless a branch. if cant contact you they sms to call them back if important with name of person, but tell you to call a 1300 or similar number with the extension after. I had to hang up on this number, i doubt it was a real anz call but who knows. ANZ only call you if they need to.

This number keeps calling me a few times a day. It is really annoying; I blocked the number on my phone as spam, it just goes straight to the message bank without ringing. I wish they would stop calling. Has ANZ's data been breached?

Missed calls, rung back said it was anz then hung up on me,I then called anz asking why they called and they said no one from there department tried to call and no notes were left on my acc stating reason to, Spam for sure.

Had a text message and a missed cal from this number regarding anz unlimited offer limited time credit card application. No thanks. Never signed up for marketing contact! ANZ breach of privacy?!?!?!

I have been getting at least 3 calls from this number per day, for the past week. I haven't answered, as I am always at work at the time. Thanks for everyones posts.. I wont be answering this. If it is ANZ, they really need to put restrictions of the number of times they attempt to call clients. once per day for 3 days.. then cross us of their list. I don't think that's unreasonable. Or, leave a message! We'll call if we're interested..

There is no way it can be anz bank,
if it was they would no what I did with them,
they wont answer any questions, that's because its a scammer,
got angry so they just keep annoying me,

Got a call from this number to confirm my name then hung up! Super weird if it is really ANZ that making this kind of call!!!

Just got a call from this number. Annoying call agent with no respect to the call recipient. I have added this number to the rejected list on mobile.

Getting 3-5 phone calls a day for the last 3 days. They are now blocked on my phone. I am an ANZ customer.
