Just got a scam call from the "ATO" about "tax evasion". Told him to PO. Really good English, but clearly from India or similar location, routed via a Victorian number. WARNING: this is a known and well documented scan, prevalent in USA. Do not be a victim. These guys collect millions of dollars each year from people who get scared and don't use logic. This is NOT the way the ATO works. Don't get scammed.

Alexander lee scam ato threatens to call police for ato fraud and contact him asap with you tfn. I called him twice asked to be put through to reception he them a used me. Scam and reported to police

I just got one too from this number. I had also received an identical call from the same person almost exactly one month ago on a different number: (02) 6176 1800.

I had 2 of these phone calls in the day. Looked it up and seems like a scam. Same details 'Alexander Lee'. When you call the number back it is not connected. Same here. Caller with an indian accent said my husband was on a ato debtors and tax evasion case list. When asked for the case number, caller said he wasn't on list and hung up. ATO scam.

Definite scam!
