Caller: NBN co Seemed genuine to me.
If it was a scam they didn’t need to call me as he had my name my address and the provider details already. He knew I had just connected and all he asked was if it was working.
Didn’t seek any information from me.

Caller: Fake NBN Caller claimed he was from NBN and said I had a scheduled appointment on the 22nd, except I don't. He hung up when I asked him what my full name was.

I believe people saying this is legit have either been fooled or are the scammers. Further to my comment from 19 Aug 2022. I asked the NBN technician who came on site to setup my fibre about these calls. He said the NBN are a wholesaler and do *not* phone customers.

Caller: "NBN" Just received a call about my "pre-existing" appointment which I never made. called specifically saying they were from NBN but would not give me any details until I verified my account with them. Said they could give me the street address but I had not pre-existing appointment. If this is NBN, what a crappy experience.

Called twice today, but I haven't picked up. It looks to me like NBN do not call retail customers: https://www.nbnco.com.au/learn/protect-yourself-from-scams
Also, I can't find this number on the NBN site and yes, phone numbers can be spoofed.
The folks saying this is legit could be the scammers.

Legit call from an NBN technician organised through Vodafone that wanted to make the appointment earlier. They already knew my name, address and appointment date/time.

Caller: NBN Co This was not a scam call. The gentleman had my details and the time of my scheduled NBN appointment. Rang to say they have an earlier appointment if I wanted it. He didn’t ask me for any details and I received an updated email from NBN Co with the updated scheduled date I selected during the call. I am usually pretty sceptical but this call was legitimate. (Doesn’t mean this number can’t be spoofed at other times though)

Definitely a scam. Google NBN Scam and you will see that NBN will not call you. They clearly have access to NBN bookings which is horrifying.

Legit call about NBN connection appointment.
Had also left me a voicemail earlier in the day and generally if it’s a spammer, they don’t leave voicemails to confirm they’ll call back later.

Caller: NBN They called to confirm my NBN upgrade appointment. Seemed legit, as all the details they told me were correct and they didn't ask for any other personal information.
They just had to confirm details about the property (if special access was required, pets, etc)

Caller: NBN I read these posts and didn't answer thinking they were spam calls. They called often! In the end I called Optus and they said it is legitimate. I answered the next time they rang, and yep they are 10000% legitimate. They were calling to get the NBN technician out here a week earlier than what Optus had booked. This is not a scam guys.
