Legitimate call from NBN Co, unattended number though.
I have been trying to fix my nbn and missed this call so know it's legit.

Initially I was cautious as they claimed to be from NBN but it was a typical scammer type of call. I did have an NBN appointment the next week so I continued. They had all the details of the booking and only asked for confirmation of the day and time as well as any access issues for the technician. Never asked for personal information and it was 100% a legit call.
I think some of the scam reviews below simply had uneducated call centre workers who would have come across as scammers.

You’d think NBN would have a dedicated number with caller ID… SMH

Rang multiple times, sounded like an Indian call centre, couldn't hear clearly - I heard NBN. I am setting up NBN currently, but everything is in order so this must be a scam. How are they getting this information??

Scam scam scam. Do not trust. My ISP has no record of any NBN orders. Note someone actually turned up at my place too which is frightening. Had a worksheet with the details

If it's not a scam, how can this Indian guy claim to connect my nbn over the phone only when I don't even have an nbn box attached to the house!! LOL, ffs.

Seemed genuine to me.

If it was a scam they didn’t need to call me as he had my name my address and the provider details already. He knew I had just connected and all he asked was if it was working.

Didn’t seek any information from me.

Caller claimed he was from NBN and said I had a scheduled appointment on the 22nd, except I don't. He hung up when I asked him what my full name was.

If you feel like scam baiting them, too bad they do not answer private numbers, dirty dogs!

I believe people saying this is legit have either been fooled or are the scammers. Further to my comment from 19 Aug 2022. I asked the NBN technician who came on site to setup my fibre about these calls. He said the NBN are a wholesaler and do *not* phone customers.

Just received a call about my "pre-existing" appointment which I never made.
called specifically saying they were from NBN but would not give me any details until I verified my account with them.
Said they could give me the street address but I had not pre-existing appointment.
If this is NBN, what a crappy experience.

Called twice today, but I haven't picked up. It looks to me like NBN do not call retail customers:
https://www.nbnco.com.au/learn/protect-yourself-from-scams

Also, I can't find this number on the NBN site and yes, phone numbers can be spoofed.

The folks saying this is legit could be the scammers.

Legit call from an NBN technician organised through Vodafone that wanted to make the appointment earlier. They already knew my name, address and appointment date/time.

This was not a scam call. The gentleman had my details and the time of my scheduled NBN appointment. Rang to say they have an earlier appointment if I wanted it. He didn’t ask me for any details and I received an updated email from NBN Co with the updated scheduled date I selected during the call. I am usually pretty sceptical but this call was legitimate. (Doesn’t mean this number can’t be spoofed at other times though)

Definitely a scam. Google NBN Scam and you will see that NBN will not call you. They clearly have access to NBN bookings which is horrifying.

Legit call about NBN connection appointment.

Had also left me a voicemail earlier in the day and generally if it’s a spammer, they don’t leave voicemails to confirm they’ll call back later.
