THIS IS A SCAM. This is not Paypall. The comments which suggest it is PayPal, that providing your email is safe, are part of the scam.

Block this number!

Caller: SCAMMERS.

USE YOUR BRAINS.

This is clearly a scam, they are just upvoting their own comments.

You can tell straight away if they cannot send you an email to the one on YOUR FILE. Then you give ZERO INFORMATION.

They hung up on me as soon as I started picking them apart lol

Caller: Scam - Pretending to be PayPal

This number will call you when you owe PayPal money, PayPal will also try to call you which makes it harder. This number and similar numbers are fake, the best option is to call PayPal and said you will have your payment paid by this date so you can ignore these numbers.
The bigger issue is that these callers know right away when you owe PayPal money as this is not just a one off or a guess so PayPal is leaking these details somehow.

As you all probably know or not, Scammers will pretend to be from any businesses like for example PayPal.
If it was truly PayPal, please explain to me why they never leave a message? Most businesses that I know of, they leave a message. So why PayPal doesn't?
Also someone said they spoke to an American Lady, from a Sydney phone number? Hmm weird.
I am not saying that it isn't real PayPal, but to me it stinks, and I don't trust anyone anymore.
As I said, if it is truly genuine business, like PayPal in this case, they should leave a message. If they don't want to, I simply block any number that I do not know.
Reason for that is simple, there are too many scams roaming around Australia and with today's technology you can make it look like you are from Australia and pretend to be from any business, but in reality the call is coming from another country and most likely it is a scam.
So, really all genuine businesses can thank those Scammers!
I will NOT take any chances anymore, as I have being scammed, so no more.
If they are too stupid to leave a message, I simply block any number that doesn't leave a message.
And I suggest you all people to do the same.
And if PayPal will read this, maybe they will change their silly tactics to contact someone.

Has called several times in the past couple of days and each time no one on the other end of the call.
Tried to call the number back but it said number is not in service.

Caller: claiming to be Paypal

I got a call today from this "Sydney" (02) number saying they were from PayPal. I have two PayPal accounts personal and business. There was no suspicious activity on either. There were no alerts or concerns. This is definitely a scam caller. I can't believe how many people still think this is legitimate. They are just getting better at it, so don't be fooled! Don't call back the number that called you, go directly to Paypal.

Real, check your PayPal account and tell me it’s fake. Mine was is neg from an Uber order 2 weeks prior.

I have received 14 missed calls from this company in 8 days. When I called back and told them to remove me from their list, they wouldn't proceed without my name which I told them I would not give. They hung up on me quickly after establishing I would not hand over my personal information. All systems should be able to lookup a phone number. What a scam.

Genuinely is PayPal, they are from the negative balance accounts part of PayPal. They had kept calling and calling so I decided to call the number back. He didn’t ask for any payments ect just to find out when I was making my payment, which was cleared up quickly.

They keep calling me cuz they want money . Best believe they aren’t getting sh*t. And apparently it’s PayPal. They will DEFINITELY not be getting any money

Turned off caller ID to call them back and the ONLY automated message you get while you wait to be connected is ‘you can be certain all calls and emails from us are genuine’ that is bizarre. Also if it was PayPal they wouldn’t be calling me a million times and not leaving a message.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. PAYPAL DO NOT CALL CUSTOMERS OUT OF THE BLUE. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY CREDIT CARD DETAILS TO THIS NUMBER. This number is not known to PayPal. I called PayPal and confirmed this. Don’t be fooled, they are able to rattle off your details and can tell you information regarding your account.

If you have a negative balance you do NOT need to pay over the phone. You just need to make sure your financial institution has money in there and PayPal will balance it out.

It is a scam.. Last time they called me I asked them to identify themselves and they were stumped. Then I told them that I would call PayPal myself if they wanted to discuss anything and they hung up. Just like all scam call centres set up in some dodgy abandoned office building, the person had a thick Indian or Middle Eastern accent.
