Rang my mobile a second time. Said it was a policeman (with a woman's voice). Asked me to ring my solicitor urgently or I would be in serious trouble.

Caller: (02) 9160 3117 My start caller ID detection said "Warning: Potential Fraud" (it is always correct).
The voice message was automated and said it was a routine solicitor from the ATO and to call back immediately as it was time sensitive, or face legal consequences.
ATO will never ever do this. Don't pick up. Report the number.

Says it’s a call from the ATO but when you call back. It forwards to a message box for “Betty Mike” and asks to leave a message

Yes this Asian sounding voice said she would hang up once her message to me was finished and that I must ring back said (above) number or face the legal consequences. Very disconcerting but obviously a scam. Sent a chill down my spine these people are getting shrewder and shrewder - there is very modern technology in Asia now that can get your voice from your number and steal your identity. Be very wary guys!!!
