Robot message telling me about pension increases and asking if I was on CL payments. That dept would know, so why ask me. Definite scam.

I am a retired public servant who worked for Centerlink/Department of Human Services. I received a robot call from a woman who possibly had a Chinese accent. It is clearly a scam and also a phishing exercise asking you to confirm whether or not you are a pensioner. The recorded message falsely claims to be an official message from 'Department of Human Services' Its a pity the Federal Police haven't shut these criminals down and jailed them for falsely claiming to be government officials. From memory its at least 7 years jail.

Mum received a call asking her to ring this number. They asked her to confirm her social security number and she gave it to them. They said she was entitled to over $2000 in back pay after her pension had been increased and that they had sent her letters and she hadn't replied to them. It wasn't until they asked her for $400 that she twigged on to their scam.

I can't believe these government twats can spend billions of dollars every year spying on all of us and then take months to act on scammers that impersonate government agencies. I really hope noone gets scammed by this crap. Pensioners struggle enough financially anyway. Would love to get my hands on these low life bottom feeders.

Some scam claiming to be centre link and something about their pension rates increasing.
I receive no form of welfare/family tax benefits nor have in decades so this is a total scam.
Recorded robot voice - I simply hanged up but this is going to cause a lot of issues since most are on centre link benefits with the mid class welfare of this nation they call family benefits.

Robot call ostensibly from Centrelink telling me to call this number and quote a certain application number. Call claimed they had tried to contact me numerous times but with no success. As they obviously have my phone number and address as well as my email address sounded like bullsh*t! Seemed too much like previous calls supposedly from ATO concerning a warrant for my arrest so didn't ring them

I was to contact this no. as I hadn't answered letters or application form. Was given a reference no. Original call came from 1800 076 072 via recorded message. Contacted both Centrelink & ACCC to report scam

Robot call saying our pension has just been increased and asking me to press 1 or 2 for options. I am NOT on any pension or Centrelink benefit, so why should anyone call re pension increases? Definite SCAM. HANG UP!

I got this call today and I almost got scammed. Said I was getting a pension increase. I rang the number and gave the application number they said, and just in time said, how do I know this is legit.

Don't ring any number they provide as this is a scam. Rang me today re: pension increases and asked to ring a Canberra number. I rang Centerlink instead to report; this is a scam.

Received a message on my answering machine asking me to ring a number and saying I was being underpaid by Centrelink and that I had ignored numerous calls and forms sent to me to make contact. As a result my file had been closed and sent to Canberra upon ringing the number I became suspicious and asked the person if he was a scammer and he immediately hung up.

I got the same call as above about half an hour ago (from (02) 9099 1767). As I had a caller waiting on the line and am not on any centrelink pension etc, I pressed 2. Returned to my original caller (who I had put on hold) as I really wan't paying too much attention to the caller. But I did press 2 to say I was not receiving any pension. I hope this does not wind up putting me some other kind of scam caller list! Like others who have commented above, I just can't work out why this phone number can't be traced and stopped. I'm sick and tired of these scam callers (intrusive thieves!)! I notice they call me at times of day I'd otherwise not receive a call (like mid afternoon)!

We get about two calls a week from this mob. My wife answered once and there was no one there. It is no one we know and is just a bloody nuisance

the phone call came from the number 020991767
Apparently after reading many postings on line is someone trying to scam pensioners.
I did not answer and will not answer.
They said it supposed to be related to Centrelink about pension payments having just gone up.
these people need to be stopped.
