Recorded voice message (Aussie accent) about pension increase - my file had been sent to Canberra as I had not responded correctly and I had to call (02) 9099 1767 with a Reference Number to sort it out. The call came from the same number. Will report it to Scamwatch and Centrelink.

Asked if anyone in the household was on a pension, pension was being increased and I had back pay available to me, it said they had sent out paperwork and they had not received it back. Because they had not received it they gave me a number as well as a phone number to ring centrelink in Canberra as my file was moved there. I rang the number and when I asked them to prove who they were and called them scammers they hung up. I'm so sick of low life scum pieces of sh*t, why don't they get a real job.

Do not give any details to these people as this is a scam to steal your details for fraud. Do not return the call as Centrelink would not call, they would send mail. Also call the normal Centrelink number that you would normally call and not this one.

Lastly call scam watch on:
1300 795 995

Scam watch number was given to me by the police

Answer machine took the call, no message left. I called back and answer was: "The number you have dialed is not in service". Hence scam!

Missed the call from this number when I rang back the answering machine was set up
with a voice recording telling me your call is important to us and so on.
Eventually a David answered and said my pension had been underpaid since last year.
He sounded very convincing and like a fool I gave him my name and CRN I became suspicious when I asked him where he was ringing from he said from Canberra I said that is a Sydney number he then hung up.What are they after?

Recorded message no accent. Said was official message from Centrelink, Press 1 if you receive Centrelink payments or 2 if not. It was a poor line and I didn't hear all that was said, so opted to hear the message again. It cut out before the message had finished.

Having been an investigator within Centrelink knew this was a scam. Rang the ministers office as thought those on payments should know about it. Couldn't care less and said ring scamwatch. Nothing like ignoring the people you are supposed to represent

Auto message telling me something about pensions when there is no one here on a pension. Looks like it is designed to rip off the elderly.

Always get an email from Centrelink. So suspect and I didn't select anything, recommend you block them.

I rang and got this Asian man, who stated that I had been underpaid and he wanted to know what was my last pension amount. I told him he should know as the pension came from centerlink. He asked me my pension number and stupidly I gave it to him. He was very hard to understand and I told him this. Strangely enough when I rang the Canberra Number.. It was answered by something like this. "You have rang the dept of human services. for aged pensions etc etc please press one" then a voice came on and said the waiting time was 1 minute (that alone should have thrown up some red flags).!! He hung up and I immediately rang back. Got him again but I said to him' "Are you the person I was speaking to before as I didn't want to have to go through the whole spiel again. He refused to answer and I kept asking him - he hung up. Definitely some sort of scam, but what are they after??
