When these scam callers are identified, why does the service provider (eg Telstra) let them continue using the telephone system. That is a service provided by the service provider without receiving any call costs, not to mentin the millions of dollars they scam. If I can block them then why is it impossible for the service provider to block them. We paying customers are paying for these scammers to use the phone system for free. I have bloaked all international calls, but now they use local numbers. But then why do I have to go to the trouble to block all international calls just because of scammers.

Caller: NBN - Scammers The usual pause after you say hello which gives me a bit of time to prepare my abuse. Then "Hello" to my Hello a couple of times. Then you get the usual Indian scammer trying to say his name is Michael & he is from NBN. My Normal response is 1. Your name is not Michael & 2. You are not calling from NBN. They ten hang up admiting defeat. Now you may ask how do I know these 2 things. Firstly the NBN does not have customers all business goes through ISP's such as Oputs, TPG, AGL, Airtel, and many more. It is your Internet service provider who would call. Second I'm no linguist but I've bought enough currys to recognize an Indian accent & Michael is not an Indian name. All these scammers do is give their countrymen a bad name.

I screen my calls for my business. Used to have a major problem with spam calls, but my outgoing messages says all calls will be screened because of spam numbers. Clients understand and leave a message and I just call them straight back.
