Yes, it was a driver from Amazon. You may NOT have ordered anything directly from Amazon. But there can be sellers that may be doing drop shipping via Amazon, selling on other platforms such as eBay.
I got a surprise call today (Sun 8.15pm) from an Amazon driver claiming he could not deliver my parcel. I checked the details of the parcel and confirmed that it was from an eBay seller I had recently placed an order with.

Called me 3 times within 5 mins. When answered, no voice in the other end, in all 3 times. I do not have any Amazin orders awaiting delivery at the moment. It is very unlikely to be an Amazon caller. Possibly s scam caller. Called on Sunday midday - not a business day nor during business hours. No voice messages left when went to message bank.

Recieved a txt message with the below:
A driver has a message about your order. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts from Amazon for deliveries and pickups.

this delivery needs a one time password to deliver
If you can't provide the one time password then the package will be sent back"

Then 30 seconds I get a phone call from this number. His telling me his from Amazon and what is the code? I haven't used Amazon for about 6months. Not sure if a scammer? I have bought and waiting for an item from EBAY? Could they use the same service? Anyway I had no code or has no idea what he needed to drop the parcel

This is not a scam number. Amazon delivery drivers use this number to call people when they have a question or an issue with a delivery. I missed the call because it seemed suspicious, but it was definitely them. I assume they mask the driver's mobile number by using this number - quite a smart way to operate.

Lazy Amazon drivers, calling 10 minutes before arriving at the address and asking us to give directions and to come out to pick up the parcels.

Yes, this number is Amazon. They called me a couple of times and I didn't answer probably like most people because I didn't know the number and no message was left.
I checked the number here on Reverse call Australia and thankyou to everyone who confirmed the number, I then knew who it was.
I was expecting a delivery and they were trying to contact me. Don't bother ringing back on this phone number, it only has a voice message. that directs you to your Amazon account. You can then prompt Amazon to ring you and straight away they call and I found them very polite and helpful.

You should answer, or you won't get your package.

It was the Amazon delivery driver. He was delivering a cell phone and needed me to check my email to get a one time delivery code.

He was very patient and called me a second time after I missed the first call.

This is NOT a scam. I had an Amazon Delivery today and the person called from this number as I didn't hear the doorbell and I have a locked gate.

Why so arrogant? The Amazon guy was just doing his job.

Amazon doesn’t “use” anyone; they’re Independent Contractors, many of whom bring a friend or spouse along to help. The “landline” is a proxy number so neither you nor the driver can see each other’s real mobile number

It’s literally the number Amazon Logistics uses nationwide. The driver (whom is an IC, not an employee) requests to contact the customer; the proxy number calls the driver, and then contacts the customer via the proxy. Neither the driver nor the customer have their real mobile numbers revealed to one another
