They asked to verify my bank and personal details. Their numbers are different from the ones provided in commbank verification team site, but very similar. The calls are suspicious and the bank officials confirmed that it is a scam

These guys are a joke, 4th time they have called me to set up a business account, it has been going on for over 1 month, they keep forgetting to input all my details and one time the auto recording did not work. Unfortunately this is a legit number but also unfortunately they are so incompetent it does seem suspicious.

This number called me asking me to verify personal details over the phone. In particular my profile. I told them I don’t have a CBA account and he said it was it was just a profile. Sent me an email And also a very urgent text message saying they needed a response. If it is CBA they have no right to pressure in this way. I have no account with them. I’m treating it as a scam call.

This is Legit CBA phone number

I opened a new Business Bank Account 2 weeks ago and CBA using (02) 8055 4001 tried to reach me but failed.

I called back (02) 8055 4001 and unfortunately the first person who answered was in Individual Bank account team, not Business Bank account team, didn't know what was going on either.

After about 15 minutes, he transferred me to Business Banking team, and they again wanted to verify my
- full name
- residential address
- date of birth

I raised my concerns and they sent a private message to my NetBank inbox. I login my NetBank > Messages > Inbox sure enough there is a message asking to verify my details so I can start using Business Bank account.

Overall I wouldn't use CBA services again if I could help it. In total I had to make 4 phone calls and 1 local branch visit to set up Business Bank account whereby NAB could do everything in few minutes.

Some indian called me and somehow knew my name saying she was from the commenwealth bank and had to verify my details. After knowing what was happening, i told her that she was a scam and that she would send me an email instead for my concerns. Please be careful of this scam!

Received a call but I did not answer. The voicemail message was not very clear but they asked me to call a 1300 number. 2 minutes later received an email from ‘Shiyao Li on behalf of KYC (know your customer) in regards to my BankWest account/s, wanting to know my ;

Source of wealth
My Identification documents
Employment / Occupation details
Fearing this is a scam I will query it next time I go to the teller. Even if it is a legit number it’s none of their goddamn business what my personal details are and if they persist I will close the account . Easy peasy japanesy

Caller: A guy claimed working from Westpac

He asked me to provide personal information to update my profile over the phone (which I never had any relationship to that bank) and I denied to provide.. He asked me to provide information via email and I said I had no email address and I asked him to send via postal mail. He then said he would send and hang up. Definitely a scammer!

I didn't call back. Got an email asking for personal details. CBA or not, I am under no obligation to respond, nor do I trust it. Just invite me into a branch and when I get around to it ok.

This number is actually legit, they called me today and I was suspicious so hung up. I rang CBA themselves and it is in fact a legit number.
They are authenticating certain details for your account, for me was my ID as the last time they viewed my ID was 20yrs ago lol. Anyway I
don't blame anyone for wanting to confirm that it's not a scam and neither do they. Hope this helps someone. I found this thread when
working out if it was a scam or not and from the comments figured it was a scam until I called.
