Saying they are Optus, looking for a name I can’t even understand! I was receiving these calls so many times more than a year ago and told them it’s not this persons number!! Eventually they stopped! Seems strange that even after changing MY number a few months ago they are calling yet again asking for the SAME person they were looking for last year who apparently had my old number as theirs. Why would this person have both my old number and new number listed as theirs??

I'm receiving calls from Optus several times a day. It really is relentless.

Yes they're chasing money, however I cancelled the mobile phone account - 3 times already!

The first time they just kept calling me as they wanted to sell me a new plan obviously. They didn't understand that I am with a new provider now.

Then they charged me another month. So I paid it and again cancelled the account.
Still they call me excessively but won't cancel the account. Now I have another 2 months of charges and I don't believe I should be paying.

I have no idea how to stop this unnecessary harassment other than just reporting it to the ombudsman.
When the telecommunications ombudsman is involved a special team within Optus handles the matter and liases with the ombudsman to resolve. Then the ombudsman will notify me.

So anyone else having difficulties, this is the path with least amount of headaches.

To those saying pay your bill and they will stop calling... if only that would help. I’ve spoken to two different optus employees who have confirmed my account is up to date however I’m still getting calls and texts saying it’s not paid.

It’s bordering on Harassment. Phone will not ring. A random message will come thru saying you have a missed call from this number (+6128049557) the same missed call message will also drop when you are actually using your phone. If OPTUS are chasing Bills, stop being underhanded and harassing folks, and legit call your customers. Also, once Bill is caught up with, you’ll then receive a text that comes from the “Optus Team” saying:
“Hi, sorry we missed you. We tried calling you today with a reminder that a payment of $**** for your Optus account - blah blah - is now overdue. Pay securely via My Optus App app.optus.com.au/billing or a preferred payment method outlined on your bill. If you've already paid, you're all set. Need help? Contact us via optus.com.au/contactus
Like I said, borderline Harassment.

Im boycotting Optus.

I changed to Telstra back to Optus a year ago.....

but once I chose my new phone number with Optus.. the new phone number that was generated, was linked to another optus account.
I was receiving sms messages for someone else who had the same number previously?? and saying the 'persons first name' had to pay the outstanding amount.

When I contacted optus about the messages, they said they could not make contact with this person any other way as they recognised that they had caused a breach of privacy.

They then asked me to change my contact number for there glitch in the system. I was ropeable.

Don't go to optus if you want them to breach your privacy and annoy you with messages for someone elses account.

Constant calls and never leaves voice mail. Either block the. I’m er or answer it with a metal whistle blasted in their ears. As far as I am concerned, if it’s Optus, they can respect my repeated requests for all contact via email. I have told them many times I will not answer calls during business hours. Unprofessional scum bags.
