It seems this is new type of scam, the godday number is (02) 8042 8920, yes I have account with them however I never received any call like this before, they asked my credit card and access code to lookup my account but I felt suspicious about the call, I said I used FB to login and I dont know about any other thing. They said its bill related issue, I then asked why not sending me an email about it, and then the person said they will. After that I went back their site and found that (02) 8042 8921 has nothing to do with them. WATCH OUT HIS!! GoDaddy Spoke to the official Godaddy centre. Definitely NOT from Godaddy. 100% Scam blocked number due to info on this useful website Caller: (02) 8042 8921
Rings everyday - annoying.
I have blocked.
seriously guys you think its a scam?
anyone with half a brain would know its either because at some stage you had a website or a domain name registered through them so they will be following up on seeing if you want to renew it.
If you have never used them then have you ever thought they have rung a number thats in there system that is old and one of the phone companies has re issued it to YOU.
Get a F@#$ing life
Male caller called to tell me there was 'an Alert' on my domain. Asked me to verify my postcode (I did and he confirmed, but this does not mean much - could be data gathering). Knew I hosted elsewhere asked why I did (told them). I asked him to tell me about the Alert - he then said he thought my domain setting wasn't 'Private' but now saw that it was... I asked where he was calling from - Arizona. I asked him who he voted for. He shut down and we pretty much hung up then. Caller: Go Daddy
Go Daddy calling
just calling to check website ok... Caller: GoDaddy
Missed call from this number - I am a GoDaddy customer and my account is overdue so I'd say it's legit GoDaddy
No message left - but I could hear voices - call centre!
Anyone can see when a Domain expires and anyone can see who hosts it. Therefore ANYONE can call you to tell you its about to expire and take your money. Caller: GoDaddy
This was a legitimate call from GoDaddy informing me that one of my domains was about to expire and asking me if I was aware. I said I was aware and didn't need it anymore. They pretty much said no worries, have a good day.
Not a scam call, although always good to be cautious.
Received call, they said GoDaddy. NOT GODADDY.
I called thrice just to understand the story. Very efficient scamming. Do not give your site PIN, or your entire site may disappear, site pulled down, domain may be resold, linked credit card used.
Online search shows number on structuredchange.com.au/contact/ a telemarketing company.
They are from Indian (my native country), but trained to have excellent American accent.
Opened Godaddy site, calls began within 30 mins, definitely spam.
Said they were calling to see if everything was ok with the website. I said yes. Said something about security and I said nope, everything is fine. He said, ok, just call us if you need any thing. Wasn't pushy.
they call either showing desparately way of informing themselves about you impersonating companies that are neccessarily had Australian benefits given to you so they will try to investigate more about what you have earned out of discountability or benefits of the country and try to offer you a better deal in the same time do not give them any of your identity over the phone specially if they have gathered you information from an email if its got your surname on a seccond email they will also try to identify you more as they are getting closer at retrieving your data Scammers, Block the number Caller: Scammers
Just because they say they are from Godaddy doesn't mean they are the real Godaddy. They are calling me on a number that isn't listed on my Godaddy contact but is listed on a website I have hosted through Godaddy. I called the real Godaddy after returning the call to the fake Godaddy. In dealing with Godaddy for more than 14 years, I think I would have received unsolicited calls from them before now if (02) 8042 8921 wasn't a scam caller.
I dont answer calls I dont know and this forum was helpful in me determining whether I need to call back. What concerns me is that yes I do have an account set up with GoDaddy which I only set up a couple of weeks ago, so how did they get my number, cant be a coincidence. Who has been breached? My site or GoDaddy's database?
