I wish these people would get real job and leave me alone. Don't even know why they would calling me, apart from maybe being a scam.

I received a scam hoax phone call from dodgy Credit Corp (02) 8024 9402 on my unlisted phone number and they did not leave a message and when you ring the number back they will not disclose their organisations name so I blocked the number. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) produces a Debt collection guideline for collectors & creditors https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/debt-collection-guideline-for-coll… Unnecessary or unduly frequent contacts may amount to undue harassment of a debtor. The ACCC recommends that you do not contact a debtor more than three times per week, or 10 times per month at most.

I have also received harassing phone calls from Credit Corp from the following phone numbers:

Caller: Credit Corp

Credit Corp continually chase you for supposedly unpaid debts that they have purchased from a finance company for as little as 4c in every debt dollar you supposedly owe. So for a $1000 debt they have purchased for as little as $40.
Never ever ring them back as your credit year blacklist will start again.
Your debt gets wiped after 7 years if you don't make any contact with them.
Block their number but they will continually ring you on other phone numbers that they have a rotation of hundreds of landlines & mobile phone numbers they use.
Rule of thumb is never answer any phone calls from people you don't know if they aren't in your address book.

not techincally correct. In the state of NSW the statue barred in 7 years from the date your either make a payment or acknowledge the debt. other states do not have statue barred debts. Google. Debts under 10,000 can not be taken to court to make you bankrupt. if you dont accept the debt as yours it wont affect your credit rating even though they show as a credit provider and yes at 7 years the debt is wiped.
