Insurance co calling about a car accident I "had" in December. Except there was no car accident. Laughing heartily and following it with "yeah, nah, f*ck off mate" before hanging up seems to have worked.

"Yes Hello, I am calling from the accidental line agency. We have received a notification that you were involved in a motor vehicle accident in the last two years, that was not your fault."
Nope, not me.
"No? No one else in your family?"
Nope, no accidents here.
"Are you sure?"
....
Don't call here again.

Said he got my info to follow up on car accident I had within the past 3 years I said what car, he said he only had my number and couldn’t tell me what car, I then said exactly what car cause I don’t have a car he then said oh sorry I must have wrong information have a nice day and he hung up.

I was called a few weeks back same thing but they insisted I was in an accident and I was insisting I wasn’t.

It’s fun for a bit I feel for the people who fall for it.

Hilarious alternative answers to them, hats off to the comedy posted in these comments! :D

I'm not that quick-witted, but glad that there's enough people out there who have placed this warning for (02) 8003 7153, it's greatly appreciated.

had a missed call from this number and when I called back it said that the number was not in service. In checking on the reverse Australia web site I see that this is a scam about insurance and they are asking for your personal details.

It was the typical car accident one; the concerning part was that she asked for me by name (first name); I didn't confirm who I was and asked who's calling. She then went on the spiel about car accident/insurance claim etc and I hung up on her partway through the sentence, blocked and reported the number! Just feel very concerned for older and more vulnerable people falling for this sort of rot!

Some Indian girl said that I was involved in an accident with my car and was trying to finalise the details. I told her it was because I had some curried Tandoori Chicken and couldn't make it home on time but I'd already replaced the seat, and threw my pants away..... then I heard that familiar sound of a phone hanging up.

Called asking if I had been in an accident in the past 2 years, I said I had not, she then asked "did anyone drive into the back of you in the last 2 years", I said "that would constitute an accident right? I just said I hadn't had any in the last 2 years" I then said "look maybe you have the wrong number" and she hung up. Definitely a scam of some sort.
