I also received a call today from this number about Tax evasion, which I knew was scam. I rang back and after many attempts a person in Indian accent picked up the phone and then dropped.

These are bastards, but how come knowing the telephone number, no agency in Australia can track them!!! surprising !! I have seen so many comments here and on the internet.

I just got the same call on my answering machine. A computerised voice saying it was Patrick Walker from the ATO. It got me worried till I searched on the phone number and found this number.

Funny thing is, my partner actually works for the ATO....

These SCAMs are really annoying and getting more and more complex.

Got the same call 5 times in one day I have a newborn in the house after seeing it as a scam the indian has now started to threaten me and my family its a joke that nothing can be done. He keeps calling and threatening. The police have told me there is little that can be done

Just had Patrick Walker call as well and confirmed with ATO this is a scam.

Just got a call, I answered, a male asked for me by name, when I asked "who's calling" he hung up.

Caller: (02) 6100 3033

They called threatening issue for a warrant for my arrest, i checked same story same scam. Left the warrent for arrest voicemail. I called them back and just scammed them back, call them back a million times and scream into the phone and see how they like it ! I called back 32 times

Had call from this number today advising TFN would be suspended and legal action already under way. Advised to call back so blocked caller. Computerised voice. Few friends have also had this. I do have interaction with ATO re business and they text and get me to call them so this is not the way they do business.

Says I have a lawsuit against me. Recorded message. It is a scam.

Same thing - Indian voice. I just laughed at him - but he also called a neighbour a little later and had her very upset. He was very threatening. Normally with this sort of call I just gently put the phone down and walk away and leave him talking - go cook dinner or read a book - it must surely cost him money to make the phone call.

Just had a call from this number, claiming it was Bill Gates. Said I was tracing the number they started hurling abuse at me. Hung up.

I missed a call from this number. Called back. Didn't understand guy at first. He repeated in an Indian accent that I called the ATO. I said "you sure about that, what's the address there?". He hung up. I then blocked him thru my Truecaller app.

Just had a call from Jack at this number asking for $1950 to be paid today or go to court tomorrow. I ended the call, googled the number and when I told him it was a scam he said "f you a**hole" Total scam, their aggressive manner is not something the ATO would do. Someone should catch these guys, more naive people will be scammed.

Someone called me from this number saying they were from the ATO and wanted to verify my bank info. Jerks

This is a scam number. I have previously blocked similar numbers which leave the same messaging claiming to be about tax fraud, so it appears they use several different numbers. I reported it to my telco but they said they couldn't do anything about it.

Just got the call.... I suspected it was scam when he said he was calling from Canberra but there was a 2 second delay on the line. He didn't attempt an ID check which was the give away for me. The call ended with him claiming the police were coming to my house to arrest me and hung up..... After reading this I'm expecting another call to try and get some personal information out of me.

Does anyone know how they are forwarding their number like that? Pretty clever really.

Got a call today from someone pretending to be from the ATO at around midday. Sounded suspicious (even if they knew quite a bit of details), called back the ATO to verify and it was not real. Be careful.

I got it too, over three days. Unfortunately the ATO could take my call reporting the scam

"I'm from the Tax Office, please get your debit card in your hand" ... Seriously? They're not even trying to sound legit.

I have also received the same call- this "Jack Austin" started screaming at me because I told him I wasn't going to pay this supposed 'debt' or go to court. Called the ATO and it was all a scam.
