Not a scam. They are a genuine company. I called my bank to tell them I had a call from them in regards to some fraudulent transactions on my card. They assured me they were 100% safe and directly transferred me back to the call centre.
They had found 3 attempted transactions made in USA and they stopped them from going through for me.
They cancelled my card and are issuing me a new one but were polite enough to ask if I would like to withdraw money before they cancelled it. Good chaps!
TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY AND NUMBER!

This is NOT a scam if you were called by a private number asking to ring back on 1300 705 750.

This number is posted as the fraud detection service for multiple reputable banks, so it's a bit far-fetched that a scam would have convinced multiple legitimate businesses to list its number as the one to call for fraud.

I can confirm personally that Credit Union Australia also uses this company for fraud detection services. They were able to identify me and my credit cards based purely on my membership number (NOT account number) so they had little to gain.

I will come delete this comment if the card cancellation process does not go smoothly or as expected.

I got a message on my phone from this number saying there was a fraud alert on my debit card. I was worried about it being a scam number so I didn't call it but went into my bank to check, and sure enough there was a fraudulent transaction on my card. The information at least was accurate. I can't say anything about the phone number because I spoke to people through the actual branch.

Legit. Some of the smaller banks don’t have their own fraud help line and engage this service instead. As something had gone wrong between my two banks (the bank where I have my day-to-day account didn’t trust my savings bank) both banks referred me to this service, and they helped me work it out.

Anyone who says this is a scam number is an idiot, plain and simple. One of those peope who calls the number (even though they dont believe it is anything to do with their bank) to tell someone in the office 'i dont believe you are my bank, im gonna report this' and hangs up, goes straight here, vents. then goes into a branch, to find out it was legit all along - simple advise - CALL YOUR BANK!

Got a text message advising of suspected fraud on my card (last 4 digits quoted) and inviting me to call 1300 705 750 to check and verify. Rang the number, got answered, but didn't feel confident in the IVR presented. So I hung up, rang my credit union contact number, selected the Lost/Stolen card option, was directed to the same IVR. Person I spoke with was able to confirm existing transactions on my account (I was logged into web banking during the call). I'd had a zero-sum transaction against my card from a footware seller in the USA; they'd blocked my card and were notifying me.

I received a text advising of an attempted fraudulent transaction on my credit card and that it has been locked. It asked me to contact the bank fraud department on 1300 705 750. I dismissed it as a scam so I rang my bank directly. They advised this is legit and this fraud control centre is used by several small or regional banks. Turns out there had been several fraudulent attempts against my credit card so it is now cancelled. If unsure always call your bank first!!

Caller: Bank Australia Fraud detection - 1300 705 750

They are for real. They called at 10pm last night, quoted the last 4 digits of my card number but I had to give them my member number (not account number) to verify. They also said they were from my bank and it's a smaller bank so it wasn't just a phishing exercise. Read an article this morning which made me wonder if I had been scammed but I'm confident it is all above board. They are cancelling my card and sending me a new one but they had to verify other purchases I had made so they obviously had access to my history of other charges.
