Called this morning (9 June 2017) saying that I have committed a tax crime and that my family is under surveillance. Apparently I had to return their call to prevent them from pressing charges (sounded like an Asian, Chinese guy).
When I returned the call - obviously from a different phone, I spoke to an Indian guy who introduced as someone from the Tax Crime Office. When I asked twice where he is calling from the bugger hung up.

This is a scam.

Claims there is a lawsuit on my name because I have tried to defraud the ATO and they take legal action or issue an arrest warrant. Apparently the caller is officer Shaun White (in a robotic automated voice) from Commonwealth prosecution of SEO (think they meant ASIO) finished off with a callback number and a good bye and take care!

Things to look for when getting called by scammers:

1. Is the voice robotic.
2. Did they know your full name instead of Sir, Madam, You.
3. Did they ask to verify your identity. If unsure call back the actual numbers of the organisations or give a wrong birthdate and if they said it's correct you know it's a scam.
4. Google up the number
5. Block the number with the phone settings so their calls don't come through anymore.

These criminals have called me from this number and a number in Yass. Scammers. Beware of them.

I just receive they call today, they said is from ATO, I tried to callback but the number looks does not exist, I have being receiving these call robot messages for couple months, but today the message was pretty aggressive, I could contact them back, but really looks to be a scam.
I think they have correlation with another number that called me today too, the number is: (02) 8007 4555 , this one answered, but was pretty noise and tv sound at the back, none said nothing and they hang out. Looks they were just checking if my the phone was real.
So, they said I will go to jail if I don't answer they back...
Look scam related with paypal or oversea purchase...

(08) 9521 6093 called today, 10th July, ATO Scam!

total tax scam. Have been getting a lot of these lately. Keep blocking but new numbers keep coming. I must be on some sort of list they use to scam people.

More crap calls. This time from 061 then the number for those able to decode an incoming overseas caller ID. With all this scamming going on if a legitimate business rang you'd tell them to get st**fed too. Sad

I also received a call today (07 July 2017( and did not pick up because google the number immediately. However the message they left is pretty aggressive.

Tax Scam. Claims to be from ATO. Invited him to come visit us...told him Tiny was keen to meet - he hung up. Sad.

Called today and said they were from the Tax office... I range back twice and they hung up on me.

Yeah apparently I have a few files missing.

Also received call from 9521 6093 just another ATO scam bla bla bla.

Automated voice mail message from Unknown Caller ID to business phone. Apparently, the Australian Taxation Office has lost my files and it's a "critical incident". Who would fall for this crap?

got a call from (08) 9521 6093 telling me ATO have a criminal case or somehting, knwing this scam, when i mentioned should i recode and call police? straightway hanged up with some background noise.

got a call from the same number asking to call them back. checked with ATO, it was fake.

David from ATO tax scam and fraud heard some in background shouting arsehole . said i think you are a scam and hung up

These are Taxation Scammers, it is a scam.

Just got a call from this number, picked up got an automated message from a crim organisation. I had to call back otherwise there will be legal actions taken against me and our house is under surveillance. I did call back, the person had my address and got really aggressive towards me when I kept asking what this was about! He hung up and the line seemed to be disconnected when trying to call again. Very disturbing!

Received a call and did not answer but a message was left,
Advised that my house was under surveillance and to call back immediately.

Threat message was left by the caller advising that a delay in calling back may lead to legal prosecution.
