The number is fake. They're not in Australia. They trawl domain registrations and use the contact info to send spam email and phone calls. The badly-written emails sell their "web services". The phone calls are almost impossible to understand.

Unwanted scam or marketing calls from overseas. Very persistent.

I just registered two domain names... this is a trolling company trying to get work/extort you. They send emails and call from a fake Australian number.

They just hang up when the call is answered. Now Blocked.

Calls every few days. Usually and offer of web services. Very much a nuisances call now and possibly a scam. Internet has many reports of these services being offered with the result of shoddy work or concepts, supplied company logos and intellectual property being used elsewhere.

Rang twice over 2 hours. Heavy accent. When questioned, caller said he was in India. He wanted to sell me web design services. I repeatedly asked how he got my information - he didn't respond except to say that I had recently registered a website. He hung up when I said I didn't want anything he was selling and that I was going to put in a complaint. Number now blocked. And yet another number same thing .... (02) 1036 4984

Bogus number, optus says its disconnected but I keep getting calls from them

These callers are from India using some kind of VOIP connection to an Australian phone number. They are trawling people's phone numbers and email address from the ICANN WhoIs domain registry directory. The directory is held for legitimate reasons and these caller are breaching the use of that directory. Change your domain regoistration phone number to 9999 9999 and they won't be able to call you!

Dodgy - they call you after you buy, renew or update contact details on a domain name - they must have access to the domain registry backend database to get this information in just minutes .... very suspect

Looks they just call to check if someone answer the phone, looks a scam, and I think the send messages from phone about ATO, I tried to call back but the number does not exist

Scam. Silent for 10 seconds. Then "Goodbye" in machine voice.

Not a genuine Australian number, is more likely a Skype number being used from overseas.

Received multiple calls from this number while I was at work. They rang again just after 6pm. I answered and after several times saying hello, a thick foreign accent asked me if I wanted web design business. I advised I was a web designer and they hung up on me.

Got a call from this number two days after I registered a domain. The girl (sounds Indian) asked for the business nature, once I realised it's a spam call I ended call immediately.
