I'm on the DNC list and have a silent number that I only give to friends & family - they keep calling and hang up as soon as I pick up the phone. Highly suspicious

The VoIP provider for this number is Symbio Networks www.symbionetworks.com . So why not give them a call on 1300 789 653 and ask them to stop the scammers

received a call from a man with an accent claiming to be from the Accident Claims Management Company. asked if I had been in an accident in the last year (I had) but when I asked about the accident or how he got my details he claimed he didn't have the authorisation to give me those details. I laughed and told him to kindly take a hike. number that came up was 80072853.Dont bother answering

My mother in law just had the same call on our private home number (unlisted/registered with do-not-call). Claimed that we'd had a car accident in the past two years. Foreign accent, claimed to be from 'Common Law' and when she asked him what date this alleged claim was, which car etc, he refused to provide information to verify. Luckily she took his number and told him she'd call him back.

Caller said I had a car accident YET could not tell me what type of cars were involved. called back number not in service. the Indian guy called himself. Brett Anderson from the Australian Claims Authority which is based in Brisbane and he worked from Perth. I hope there is no real Brett Anderson... the return number came back as (02) 2800 5000 on my caller ID and not in service.

I had a call from the same number this morning but they hung up as soon as I answered. I've had calls in the past from the "Accident Claims Department" from various numbers. Same story about asking if anyone in my household has had a vehicle accident in recent months. They can get quite aggressive if you challenge them so I just tell them I'm going to report them and hang up. I've lodged several complaints with the DNC service. I don't know what the scam is as I've never let the conversation get that far.

Same as above, Indian accent, Accident claim department. Someone from our company in accident, when offered to transfer to our management, he hung up.

I'm in Perth. Call came on the morning of Anzac Day (public holiday). Caller was a guy who spoke with an Indian accent. I told him I had not had an accident, and had never heard of the 'Accident Claim Authority' he said he was working for. When I queried where his office was, he said it was in Perth. I then asked him whether it was raining at the moment (it wasn't, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky), and he said that he couldn't tell, because there were no windows in his office! I then asked him what the name of the main street in Perth was, and he couldn't answer the question. I then hung up.
