Maria, I am on the Do Not Call Register, and continue to receive calls from Solar Power companies, charities who are exempt from the Do Not Call Register and many overseas callers from India in particular, and so there seems to be little benefit in being on the Register, when I continue to receive unwanted calls.
The Charities in particular, who are exempt, are often quite rude and arrogant and who say they can call whoever they want and have no respect to those who are on the Do Not Call Register, and I do not see why Charities should be exempt at all.
You can call your phone company and threaten to take legal action for unwanted calls as your phone company have sold the telephone numbers in the first place and they usually ask you to make a record of 3 calls from the same number before they will take any action. By making a complaint to your phone company will give you a chance of being removed from their registers.

Just received a call to my mobile and they say "Hello" and then hang up. I checked out this website before I decide to call back, and just as well, as they are clearly harassing other people as well and are not a genuine entity.

Its Lyeing Finance, Collection House or CLH, they are testing your number to see if the number is still operational. Debt collection company who have already paid off your debt, you own them nothing thanks to their genourosity in paying off or buying your debt.

Telstra..They wanted my personal information before continuing conversation. Why call me if you need me to then provide you with my personal info...Total scam/phishing. When asked for their details, they put me on hold for nearly 10 minutes! Telstra, you suck!

From Telstra facebook page ---- That number is normally used by our Telemarketing team, under the terms of the Do Not Call Register Telstra can call Telstra customers listed on the Do Not Call Register because we have an existing commercial relationship with them. If you don't want to receive Telstra telemarketing calls, or for information about our opt out process, call us on 1800 039 059 (9am–7pm AEST Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).

they have called my phone twice a day at 9.30 and 4.30 all this week. I blocked the number straight away but when it goes straight to msg bank it connects to an operator so I have a stack of messages with a person just saying 'hello? Hello?" then hanging up.

i have registered my number on https://www.donotcall.gov.au/ and since i have not received any telemarketing calls EXCEPT for 2 days now i have had missed calls from this number. I have just reported them to the 'do not call register', apparently this number is not TELSTRA they say they are calling on behalf of telstra. If you are on the do not call register, they should not be calling you.

(08) 6228 4013 calls every day, several times, day and night, to my mobile. I do not answer, but will have to work out how to block these calls. Sending voicemail is just shifting the problem.
