I called back number (08) 6228 4013 reached voice mail for a company called Telstra Business Center. We run our own business and telemarketing calls are a real pain and time waster! Because our phones are registered as 'business lines' we cannot go on the 'do not call' register.....another pain! Most of the calls are computer generated and only connect to a sales person when you answer and hold on for quite a while.......during this pregnant pause, it is usually a good time to just hang up and forget about the call.
If private people can choose to go on a 'do not call' register, why do busy owner-operated business people have to put up with these kinds of needless interruptions that waste their precious time? Why don't we get a choice?
This number called most days and when we answered it just hangs up. Turns out (08) 6228 4013 is Telstra. If you call the number back and press "2" you can opt out of receiving the calls. Apparently it takes 30 days to process the request but fingers crossed it works! So frustrating! They try to mislead you into thinking that they are Telstra, but they are actually an on-seller. They have limited information; if they really were Telstra, they wold know my Telstra email address from my bundled account.
They are backpackers on commission in a call centre.
Telstra Keeps calling and doesn't leave message. Obviously spam I have been receiving calls from (08) 6228 4013 for the last few days and when I answer they hang up. Calls were on 16 and 22 June 2017. I have made past complaints about this number. calls every day. very annoying. Very helpful posts. As a result I've just blocked this number. They called. No message left. it's telstra marketing keeps calling Have added this number to my blocked contacts This number rang both my wife & self last night on our mobile numbers. When answered, there was no reply. Sounds fishy to me too.
In regards to callers on "private" numbers or overseas, I answer in my best Italian accent, telling the caller " Mr. ***** isa nota home" That gets them off the line. I also had a number of callers from solar companies, who were dispensed with by telling them " there'sa no sun here". Confused, they hang up.
Caller with foreign accent (possibly Indian) tried my home phone and then got me on my mobile. There was a busy telemarketing background noise. She said she was from Telstra. She gave me my address, year of birth and details of my account. Got very suspicious when she offered free calls only if I gave my driver's licence number because she had to do a 100-point check. I declined giving this info over the phone and she said she couldn't therefore give me the offer. It was very scary that she had so much info about.me Telstra Business - Called me twice a day for months, very annoying. Call It back, press 2 and will ask a for a couple prompts, then you will be off their list in 30 days. We constantly get calls from this number both on mobile and landline..They mostly hang up when you answer. I did manage to ask him, I am on a business plan, why I couldn't get the free afl app..He said just hold the line..I waited for 10 minutes and then gave up.. I believe they are not Telstra but an on seller as people suggest Originally had calls from this number on 10 April, then on 15, 16, 20 and 21 plus a few calls that I did not log. I have now made a complaint to my phone company for harassment. If they keep calling after that it then goes to the Police. Got a call from (08) 6228 4013 and they say Hello and hang up. Then they called again the next day, and the next day. I am on the do not call register so very annoying Multiple calls in the last few months. Telstra is a rip-off. They can leave a msg if it's so important! Agreed - Do not call register should mean exactly that - no exceptions! Maria, I am on the Do Not Call Register, and continue to receive calls from Solar Power companies, charities who are exempt from the Do Not Call Register and many overseas callers from India in particular, and so there seems to be little benefit in being on the Register, when I continue to receive unwanted calls.
The Charities in particular, who are exempt, are often quite rude and arrogant and who say they can call whoever they want and have no respect to those who are on the Do Not Call Register, and I do not see why Charities should be exempt at all.
You can call your phone company and threaten to take legal action for unwanted calls as your phone company have sold the telephone numbers in the first place and they usually ask you to make a record of 3 calls from the same number before they will take any action. By making a complaint to your phone company will give you a chance of being removed from their registers.
