After several questions, the rather nice person who said that Testra had contracted them as their sole customer service contact centre, and that they were based in Australia (does this mean I want to be hassled by them) finally admitted that yes she would get a commission!

I have had one call every day for the past 5 days. Frustrating and a waste of my time.

I phoned Telstra and they were not very helpful "Rick" 'unwelcome calls team' Pain in the arse. They will send the TTA Telco Group telemarketer a letter. This went nowhere. Don't bother phoning 1800 805 996. Telstra has got too big

Crappy telemarketers. Telstra said they're a known (complained about) telemarketer when I rang to get them barred from calling me anymore. TSA employ VERY ANNOYING tactics and so they should be banned. I even tried getting a deal through them initially waited and waited and waited and the phone, modem and deal never even showed up. Now all I get is autodialed calls from them ... screw-em. Call 1800 805 996 and have Telstra Complaints deal with them for you ... it takes a week (apparently).

This is not spam and it's not someone pretending to be Telstra! They are outsourced by Telstra and most times they are contacting someone because they are or have been with Telstra. The offices are located in Brisbane, Melbourne, WA and a couple of other places in Australia. They are a legitimate company. If you don't like them calling just block them..easy!

Thank you everyone for the warning.
I started receiving calls from this number yesterday. The first time I had a missed call. The second I answered it and there was noone there.
Now I know, I will just let it go unanswered.

I own a small business and have enjoyed hassle free times since listing on the DNCR. This is one of the minority of callers now that ignore the DNCR. These 62 numbers are fairly easy to identify as nuisance and were always routinely ignored in any case. Long gone are the days i picked up only to have my time wasted.

You guys don't have a clue.... I got a better deal through TSA than you'd get in a Telstra shop. All activation/installation fees waived a free Internet upgrade to cable 3.0 (fastest internet) and a t-box with free foxtel thrown in. No cost up front. It is 100% legitimate, and TSA are a local company as well. The rep who looked after me, gave me his contact details and has always me. Get with it, your life may improve slightly. Also, 1800 are toll free registered business numbers, not a scam.

These a**holes call and speak in a way that gives you the impression they are associated with Telstra. I've been called several times and each time I tell them I'm not interested. It now gets to the point that I tell them to piss off as soon as I realise who they are. Abusing people down the phone is not my norm and probably not the right thing to do… But if you repeatedly bomb me with unsolicited phone calls, I'm bringing out the Ghetto talk.

Thanks for all the information, have been receiving these calls for weeks. They always hang up after buisness intro given, at least now I know who and what they are. Might try putting them on hold and see how they like their time being wasted. Does make wonder who pays for these calls, what a waste!

Constantly receive calls from this number. Extremely frustrating when trying to run a small business and have numerous calls like this per day. If only The Do Not Call Register allowed small businesses to register their number, as you can do with a dedicated fax line.

What a nightmare navigating through their system for "opting out" ... hahah, such a headache. But persist people ... persist!
Thanks to everyone for posting messages above ... however the Do Not Call Register isn't applicable to businesses, it's only for Residential numbers (from what I've been told by telco's and research online, etc... and I think a couple years back I tried to get my business on the DNCR).
Unforunately the nature of being a business means you have to accept that there will be incoming calls like this. Gets really annoying when there's Telstra ones mixed in with all the other off-shore garbage scam nuisance calls as well (we get 2 a day, minimum).

So scammy. Had calls for a few weeks now. Hangs up as soon as I answer. My landline was diverted to my mob today and was surprised when someone spoke. They posed as Telstra and wanted me to confirm my personal details - full name, dob etc. instead I asked what name they had on their systems and what account it was for. They avoided every request and I ended the call.
