Received a call in Melbourne from this number. David Miller (Sounded Indian?) is from the Windows Support & Help Desk in Perth. I was suspicious at first but then he sounded plausible - overseas attack, message to HQ and he had my phone number and Windows licence ID. I was escalated to the supervisor Sean (Sounded Indian?) and after 20 minutes or so, I told him that he was not going to log into my PC. Narky finish with him telling me that my computer would be disabled within 24 hours. Can't be sure what they are up to but very time consuming so there must be a fair bit at stake.

Same thing - Microsoft wanting to fix my computer. Just hung up - but wonder if this irks them and then they retaliate by continuing to ring.

Got the same call today. In the end they convince you to pay them some money to make the problem go away. It is a Hoax. I wish I knew how this can be closed down because they must be catching a number of people.

Had the same call this evening from Zain and kept him on the line for a long time and then said I only had a Mac whereupon he assured me I had a Windows machine in the house. Does he have access to what you have and if so where does he get it?

Indians scammed my Dad a couple of days ago. He runs a mac but didn't realise his error. They took $$ from him and took control of his mac... sh*t! Anyone know what they do?

I got the same story today and was given this number. I was onto him from the start and told him I thought it was despicable what people like him were doing (I was upset because answering the call got me disconnected with an optus service call i had just spent 40 mins on!!) and he started yelling at me - they just never give up!

Good work BOB!!
I do computer repairs too and one of my regular customers got this number.
So far I have had them ring me at home twice! First time I kept the silly bugger on the phone for 50 minutes, the second time just a tad over one hour. Best part was when I gave them a fake credit card number (I could hear the guy shaking with anticipation - until he worked out it was a fake!!!). I figure if I hold them up then that is less people they can get to (and it's a bit of a laugh)!

Generally these grubs are calling from India. I love when they ring as I waste their time asking for Indian recipes (ask them for a recipe for beef!! LOL). Or you can tell them that you computer has been shut down and you have to wait for it to reboot. Just waste their time so they are not scamming someone else.

After a while you will be come proficient in doing this and will absolutely enjoy stuffing them around :-)

Got a call today telling me I had a problem with my windows computer, Microsoft had told him there is a software fault and he was going to fix it politely played him along, acted dumb, he read out what looks like a software key
:888DCA60-FCOA-11CF-8FOF-OOC asked what key was next to my Ctrl key, he spotted the option key meant I was using a Mac, told me to take the mac to my local shop for a check up, minor repair required, I said I was concerned as the Mac ran windows, I asked if I could call him when Id been to the computer shop, and he gave me this number.

Same complaint as everyone else. The girl on the end of the phone even gave us a dodgy serial number for our windows product! Also said they were in 301 George St Sydney but could not tell me what the issue was other than some serious malicious data file that worked at the back end of the computer and only they could see.Gotta give them points for upping the tactics they are using - almost believable.

Answered a call today from a number that showed up as "Overseas 0000000000" on my caller id. The caller said his name was Alex and that he was calling from a Opton Group in Western Australia on behalf of Microsoft to resolve an error message they had received regarding Windows on my computer. I asked for the number he was calling from - (08) 6102 0235 - and also got him to spell the name of the company. He asked me to turn on my computer and then press the "CTRL" and "Windows" keys on my keyboard at which point I told him I own an Apple computer and don't run Windows. He told me they don't provide support for Apple computers, that he was sorry to bother me and then hung up. I assume it must be a scam that only works on PCs.
