got my first call from this number today. so i rang the 1800 178 022 number and a nice lady checked her database for me today. i'm not in it so she'll "pass my number to the supervisor" to see if it's one of the other charaties in the building. the(07) 5668 0854 is an "outgoing number only" ANNOYING MUCH!?

Thanks to the warnings above they are now on my do not answer list

You're making a lot of assumptions there. I'm a VIP supporter of Mater foundation, but I still get these calls filling up my message bank with hang-ups because they always call when I can't answer and never leave a message, they're already receiving a substantial amount in donations from me, yet they call constantly in an attempt to sell me more tickets.
It is far too excessive, most people are happy to donate when they can, however these phone calls that border on harassment can quickly deter any potential generosity. It is not a matter of being ungrateful for the communication network, it is a matter of it's misuse in what amounts to bullying tactics that could potentially put people in financial strife by agreeing to something they haven't had the chance to consider.
All that aside, this has nothing to do with your religion, and I would suggest you refrain from calling people "dumb dumbs" in a post full of grammatical errors.

Exactly Adrian! There is a large call centre on the Gold Coast where a lot of these telemarketers are based. Add the number to your contacts with the name 'Telemarketer' and then you can choose to answer or not. I support the Mater Foundation and if I have any money left at the end of the month then I might answer and buy the additional tickets. Mostly I don't.

WE earn our money, and WE have the right to choose WHO to give it to. Just so you know, I donate about $1,000 or or more a year, but to causes that I choose. We can't donate to everything. And mostly the telemarkers are rude, don't take no for an answer, or harrass us constantly. And many times they are not asking for donations, they are asking for profit.

You say you follow Jesus, yet your post shows how un-like Jesus you are. Jesus cared about all, especially those struggling, and you obviously don't (look how you view the poor people who need Centrelink for example).
