I agree with you Kim. I too Google the numbers after not answering. 100% of the time it is a nuisance call. I am lucky enough to have the number come up on my phone when they ring and have got to know all these rip off calls. They should find themselves a proper job, to me this is the lowest of the low type job.

Thanks for the messages. I always check here before picking up strange numbers which wont leave a voice-mail or text message.

I have put true caller on my Mobile, and it will come up if it is a spam call and how many times its been reported,

So damn annoying , they are making it impossible to feel freedom to answer a call when u don't recognise the number these days

phone rang and I answered - then they hung up - I rang number back got recorded message advising Charity Fundraiser - I too am on the Do Not Call Register and it was my business number they phoned out of business hours

Number of scam calls including this number, now amounts to 27 (since mid-June) plus at least 15 from "Private Number - Overseas". There must be something that can be done. Being on the "Do Not Call" register is a waste of time if these pests can continually annoy people. My provider - BELONG - can do nothing to block the calls. My UNIDEN phone does not have the facility to block numbers either.

I do exactly the same . Don't have time for scammers and time wasters.

Scam phone number from a female slag that needs her throat cut do NOT bother answering this number (07) 5657 9013 yep its a scam.

They hang up right after I said "hello".

When I answer there was a silent delay then they hung up.

not sad at all, they are allotted a certain amount of time for each call and tying them up for maximum time is beneficial to the next person on their list, I try and break the previous days record for keeping them on the phone without buying anything by asking them to repeat certain parts of their spiel because of bad memory :D

They are from Apple Marketing and they represent 40 different charities. This number has been calling daily sometime twice a day. I requested to be taken off the contact list. How ridiculous that there is a do not call register but charities are exempt. Seriously if you don't want to be called, you don't want calls from anyone. That should be your choice, not someone else's to decide. If you have an answering machine they will keep dialing until they get a person. Mentality is probably that if they get a person there is a chance they could con you for money. Telstra should ban these numbers as you have no way of identifying whether you are really paying to a charity over the phone.

Yet another scam call - what purpose does it serve if they don't speak??? Just nuisance value. Our number is unlisted so how can this continually happen. I now have a list of 7 scam numbers which we don't answer. Total losers.....
