They called my business and asked if I had received the letter from them about our electricity price increases. I advised that I don''t deal with that side of things and who is the name of our contact on the account (thinking they may be our supplier). The rude girl advised it was actually a cold call if I even know what that is in a very passive aggressive tone. Won't be answering that number again!

I just answered my mother's phone and informed the guy calling that I wasn't the owner of the home and he begun abusing me. Telling me that I'm a rude c*nt for answering someone else's phone.
I attempted to call the number back but it didn't ring.
The guy is an absolute moron and I wish him negative vibes.

1) They are in Queensland (Brisbane)

2) They are using a "Rote" or "robot" machine that just rings the number (the telemarketer has no control over that, so don't be harsh on them - tear the company a new one - it's like blaming the "checkout chick" for price increases, it isn't their fault, it's the CEO and managers fault)

3) The aforementioned machine will keep ringing (Again - it is not like the marketer is annoying you personally every day, they have no control over it. The machine will ring and ring and ring)
3a) Machine usually hangs up on answering machines (hence no message)or delays coz it dumps it through to the human.

4) Call the ombudsmen and complain. Bitching on here is fine but it's not monitored so bitch to the ombudsmen so they can do something about it. And please bitch. PLEASE!

Don't answer call and don't listen to other people saying they are good, they ARE NOT, they are rip offs and please be careful if you do answer call at no circumstance give them your name or any other details, best to ignore call and they will eventually give up.

I answered the phone and listened to what they had to say. They checked my postcode, then asked if I have gas as well and solar. Then they did a comparison with my electricity account with other retailers and I found out I could get better deals. I went through the whole process and now I'm in a better situation. Maybe you all above should stop just hanging up and listen to them. I'm sure it's not easy calling ignorant people all day to help with their bills, so if u just pull your heads out and listen, they might be able o help you...

Thanks for Mona's idea to write down the number and check it out on the net and the next time they rang again, we know the unwanted call. I start leave a pen and notepad next to the phone to keep record.

The number shows on my screen and i answered it for first time when i said hello, then hung up. The second n third times, at different days, rang again and i wrote down the number and match it with first time so i didn't pick up my phone.Don't answer if this number show-up on your screen but if no screen, then pick up and listen, in case emergency call from your love ones or hospital !

This is an automated outbound dialler - a "robot". Ignoring the call does not annoy them, picking up the call and saying nothing tricks it into thinking it has called voice mail or an answer service so it hangs up. Answering the call and speaking will trigger the dialler to connect you to one of their sales people. Best option is probably to keep ignoring the call - eventually the dialler will take you off the list because it thinks the number is not connected. I have a contact called "DO NOT ANSWER" and all numbers from such bastards go into there.

This number has been calling daily for about 2 weeks last couple days have answered 1st one guy couldn't understand company name he said being very cagey then said a colleague had called couple days ago (hadn't) then asked for a name I didn't know then said "oh ok" and hung up.... yesterday a woman called asking for same name, then gave me my mobile no. then asked if postcode was 3189 I said No she said "oh ok" again hung up...... I think they are checking people out to see if you will reveal details and how vulnerable they think you are don't give them any info..... I will just keep answering as annoying as it is and hopefully they will give up cos this little puppy ain't giving them any info

To the person suggesting that you should just ignore the call. Why don't you answer and tell them you aren't interested? If you don't answer, they'll just try again later because you obviously didn't answer.

I had a Big Fight myself with the Telecommunications Ombudsman and to my HORROR I found out that THEY DO NOT NOT CARE about the people who complain because they get PAY 24% of his Salary by Telstra and Optus. Telstra and Optus themselves Hire the Ombudsman to speak with you. Because the Telecommunications Ombudsman That is right, the Telecommunications Ombudsman is a JOKER they can not Enforce anything at all. That means that you are just wasting your money and time filling those Online or Complain Application Forms trying to make them STOP Telstra and Optus from allowing those Mother F**kers from calling people 2 to 5 times a day. That is right sometimes I get 5 Calls a day from those TERRORISTS and they do not even have the courtecy of answering their phone they just hung up. The Best Option is to go to the Telstra and Optus and the Telecommunications 0mbudsman Offices and sh*t and Piss on their Floor like the Canadians do to get their Attention. The Telecommunications Ombudsman is a Homosexual lover of Telstra and Optus.
