I had a situation where Panthera were ringing for an electricity account for my daughter, ( she lived out) l explained that she is overseas and wont be back for another 4mths. Next thing l know l had a knock at the door from a neighbour who l had never met saying he had a phone call from a girl that worked at Panthera asking him to deliver a message to my daughter!! apparently if you have a credit issue by them they keep relisting before it drops off after 5 yrs. They don't care about privacy.

Hi people what i have learnt is that you may have had a contract with a bank, phone company or whoever it was but you didn't sign a contract with the debt collectors did you. All you need to say is and only via email nothing over the phone is 'I don't have a contract with you' and also add something like this in your email 'Any discussion will only be done via email and email only thanks, and i don't give consent for ' Panthera Finance ' to call me directly only via my email address. If this occurs im giving you fair warning that ill take the matter to court for harassment' .

Interesting msg... I work in Real Estate and have found out that lately Electrical companies are not supplying electricty to a home if it has unpaid bills ie. previous tenant had electricty with a company didnt pay the bill new tenant moves in and tries to use the same company and is being held responsible for the debt or go to another provider

Some months ago I conducted a "diy credit check" online. Always having a good credit rating was more curious about my score and how it worked. To my shock there was a default of $1583 listed by a company "Panthera Finance" for an Energry Australia so called debt dating back to 2011. I contacted Energy Australia and was advised that no debt had been on sold and in fact the account numbers in question were in credit! I contacted Panthera myself as I'd not been contacted by them at all regarding this matter. Advised them there was clearly a mistake (updated all my contact details to current as I had nothing to hide etc). They continued to harass me weekly with threatening and demanding calls from 0403 479 272. I went over and over my story..... That house was sold in a marriage separation all debt (mortgage only) was paid then settlement monies were in a trust fund while financial consent orders were processed and disbursed months later and so on. Panthera continued demanding and harassing me. Also stating I'd apparently made a $20 payment towards this "debt". I emailed Energy Australia to confirm and have in writing their account information, taking a long time and after yet another call from Panthera I called Energy Australia and spoke with Customer Solutions. Again they advised my accounts were in credit. Energy Australia check previous service addresses (to double check every avenue) and all were at a $0 balance and no notes were on record stating a debt has ever been sold. The representative at EAust emailed Panthera "recalling the debt". Huh!!! I knew it. I called Panthera back to advise them to expect this email and questioned what the process was from here in removing this strike against my name on credit file. They blatantly stated it's for myself to sort out once the matter is cleared with them it's over. The audacity! Beware they are ruthless and will try to confuse you with dates and accounts. Just to get you to give up and believe you hv a debt to settle!!!!

They apparently rang my parents number had it down as work number for me I went off at them n told them to deal with me apparently they had rung my parents number a few times according to them engergy Australia gave it to them as my mum had the account at my place before me due to my unit previously being my grandparents

I had a letter, followed up with an email and asked for the exact dates and property the bill applied to. Since we move around often, I checked the leasing times at that address and found that we were at the property for most of the bill period.
I negotiated a portion of the bill to pay, and paid it. I also handed over updated contact details, which may be I shouldn't have, but have nothing to hide.

Today I saw my Veda Credit File. These scumbag frauds have accessed my file 12 times in 12 months without my authority. Chased me a few years ago in regard to an item I rented that was returned because it was defective. The rental company provided me with a ZERO BALANCE at the time but then sold the a/c to Panthera. They have defaulted me and harassed me to the point of despair. Very threatening and heavy handed and rude. Am taking action in the Courts to stop this mob

"Panthera Finance" be careful and smart about them and there are probably many other scammers, conmen and fraudulent companies out there. Don't fall into their scam plain and simple. Received a random call out of no where and letter and was asked to pay a debt for a known communication company Ive never signed up with or had direct corellation with. They are a group or network of people that are obviously conmen and scammers, claiming for financial gain, and wanting to rob and steal from you by any means necessary. They're obviously equppied with technology and knowledge to make you think that you owe them money for a larger company. Theyre clearly in breach of the law and it is illegal what theyre doing and I highly doubt that theyre based in "Queensland" as they say they are. I live in a different state from theres why would another bigger company that makes millions or billions hire interstate debt collectors to solve their own debt issues in a different state? I received no letters of warning from the said parent company as most "official" businesses would have to by law send you to notify you of accumulating debt, they are frauds because clearly i was never with the said parent company in the first place. Yet they claim that they are in direct correlation with the company you owe money to, poposterous!! What led me to believe even more that they are scammers and are obviously fraudelent, is that they were asking me to contact the "parent" or "larger" company that they're collecting the debt for on their "provided" 1800 number that was obviously a fake number, its obvious that they would have had someone on the other line that would play their part on the con. And so i checked up on the parent company's website and it states the clear customer service numbers in case you had troubles or problems in this area with them which was so different from "Panthera's" provided number (by the way its so easy to set up a 1800 number, anyone can do it) Be smart and dont fall into their trap. It makes me truly sad to know that there are people out there like this. Wanting to steal from others. I am providing this information in hopes that it may help people that may fall under this situation.

My son who has been living in the UK for 2+ years received a call from this company saying he owed $500 for unpaid electricty at an address. My son has had an electricity account in his name nor was was he ever on the lease and why after all this time are they trying to recover? They are stating we leased the address from a year before we were actually living at the address. I suspect that are unable to recover outstanding debt from previous tenants so are trying to hit us with it. Also they are unable to provide documenation from the electricty company to prove outstanding debt. They are very pushy wanting to set up payments for a debt we dont owe and for which they cannot provide proof that it is even exists in our name. I have written to the ombudsman re this also!!

Got a call yesterday at 4.35 telling me I have a $1500 $500 for electricity and $1000 for gas for an address I have never lived at.
Told me that I had to set up a payment then and there, no I could not call back in an hour because they close at 4.30 nor on Monday. I thought it was a scam.
I asked for the name of the company and told them I needed to see this in writing and gave them my postal address and told I was not going to give out my banking details in a public space. He keep repeating that I had to set up a payment then and there so I hung up.

This "Daniel" guy has phoned 3 people I am associated with on Facebook these people are not even considered friends.
He's demanding my personal information and when they cannot provide he rattles on with details on them!
He is calling me from a mobile number only 0478 200 735 and I don't know what to do.
Someone please assist

Panthera Finance they just ring long enough hoping you ring them back and pay cost of call. they used to be State Mercantile based out of queensland. they purchase debt.

Not a very reputable company even to there staff your are mostly casual with tatrgets to meet or they are out.

I had the same company Penthera contacting me in regards to an outstanding Bill in my husbands name from an address we lived in 8 years ago. From day one of our relationship house hold bills have always been in MY name not his. I questioned them about this and they said they wont talk to me only him.. then I asked to be provided with PROOF of this so called outstanding bill.. NADA!! I get missed calls, have voice mail but they never leave a message.. its so annoying!

Called up asking for me I said no not here as they used my unmarried name and I've been married for 2yrs he then proceeded to ask who I was I refused to tell he then asked for the correct number I said I didn't know who they're asking for and stop calling as I work odd hours and they disturb me and he then decided to tell me I was a liar. Yes I lied I am who they asked for but obviously don't have their sh*t together or they'd know my correct name

Received a letter of demand - addressed my ex husbands first & last name. They are chasing $250 on behalf of AGL. My ex has never lived at the address. How the hell did link his name to my address??? That's so weird

I keep getting phone calls from this company. I have only answered once and they were So rude and after being asked my details I said no. If they are calling wouldn't they know my details. I have reported them.
