My business keeps getting calls from these so called magazines. Takes up too much of my time answering them. I block the numbers each time they call from a different number. I have at least 40 numbers blocked in my phone from scam magazine companies. They always make up some sob story about the campaign they are running, from sick kids to drug abuse etc to try to get you to be empathetic. Don't fall for it though, you are only handing your money over to a scammer. Some even pose as police officers, which as far as I am aware is illegal. Pretty sure police are not allowed to make calls such as these or ask for donations. They ask from anything from $350 upwards to $500 or $600 for an ad in a magazine, which seems ok for a big business, but not for small businesses, I believe they do actually make up some crappy printed ones, but most are digital, as they put down in terms and conditions they made up.

Had a missed call from 0466 340 014. One minute later another missed call from 04366 340 037. No voicemail left. My husband has recently had calls from the AFP scammers

Had 3 calls from this number in last 2 days. They did not leave a message. I called the number to receive a recorded message stating this is an outbound number only. Thank you for your call. The phone then hung up

Caller told me he was from National Firefighters.... i told him unless it was about work I wasnt intetested. He just went quiet..... then said alright. I have had several calls from various people regarding making donations or advertising in a publication. I wouldnt trust any of them!

Jus had a missed called from this number. No message was left. Searched the number and glad I didn't answer!

annoying calls. someone called from Federal Police and ask for the business owner. Ignore that.

Had a missed call from this number this morning. They left no message. After reading reports on this website I decided to block this number. This afternoon I received another missed call from a similar number - 0466 340 065. They may be related?

My caller called 3 times from 0466 340 037, they left a message with my secretary, mentioned it was AFP so it seems like the same scam as mentioned above

I had the same call....(he) wanted me to commit to the ad on the spot !!!.....very sus, he actually also sent me an email.

there is also a lady who called me to place an add in a Westmead Hospital newletter....same deal...wanted money up front !!!

Just received a call from 0466 340 037 wanting me to place an ad in a magazine. Claimed it was a police initiative to help teens suffering with drug abuse. I asked for a site so I could read up on them. She said she'd call back later. Police calling from a mobile phone soliciting businesses to place ads... seems like a scam to me. We'll see how many times I can ask for the name and ABN to check with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission's web site (http://www.acnc.gov.au/).

'Justin from NSW Police Association' or some such calling for donations to their new book. 2nd call in last few months from different numbers. Suspect they're harvesting from Facebook.

I ignored a call from this number yesterday but answered it today just to see who it was. It was a lady asking me to support the women police in Australia. i asked her where she got my number and she said it was given to her by her boss. I said i was busy and she asked if she could call back at a more convienient time but I told her not to. Turns out she was legit and works on behalf of the australian council of women police

Dave from Federal Police Association (really?) looking for sponsoring/advertising. They tried calling me earlier from 0402 958 570. There are plenty of negative comments on that phone number listing.
