This number is actually used by multiple companies generally via software, but sometimes in a sort of mass mail merge or help disguise contact information for customer to customer contact.

From looking at most of the reports here they all seem fairly legitimate, and today I received a legitimate SMS from this number about an event.

Trying to sell a car and got an SMS through CarsGuide from "Mr wallis" from an outlook email address. Replied via email and got this, similar to the above:

"Thanks a lot for the email. Am buying it for my lovely Son who just graduated ontop of his class in Autralia national university (ANU) ,he studied Business Law and Professional Ethics Minor and am so proud of him . I want it as a suprise package to appreciate him towards his achievement and to be delivered before my arrival NT as my family lives in NT.

I work with AWE New Zealand Pty Ltd and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kapo project. We do not have access to recive calls at the moment,its 15days off and 15days on,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. Where is it located at the moment?Does it have any history I should be aware of? and why are you selling if you don't mind my asking.I am already in talks with the courier that will handle the pick-up and delivery it in NT.

As regards the payment, I can pay you through direct bank deposit,using ppal instant bank wire transfer service, I will need your bank details. If you are not comfortable with that, you can set up a paypal account proper at www.paypal.com.au and I will make the payment through paypal, this way, all I will need is your paypal email address.

And again i have sent some of my co-worker to search this for me so you can see this kind of email so deal with me directly

I got a text from this number re: a gumtree ad- he went under the name of David Turner- he went on to email asking for my PayPal address, home address and other details- deleted straight away - beware If someone texts you asking you to email: davidtur01 @ hotmail.com

When I called the number, it says it is disconnected. Their messages were all almost similar as below.

I have just received a message, it is legitimate, but initially looked dodgy. It is reminding me to attend a Financial Management Seminar, and offering a lucky door prize. This is a seminar I have declined because of the distance we have to travel.

I just received a text msg from 0447 100 304 this morning.

"Thinking about what you are doing now, or what you have to do next, it would be great if your next drink could do... what? BLAZE"

I have just advertised a car on carsales.com.
Within six hours I got exactly the same scam from two different addresses:

Initial texts were from:

and
"+61 9 3276 7" with the title Web SMS

I also got an email from Mr wallis wanting to buy my electric bike. I wanted $1000.00 but he supposedly put thru $2000into paypal account which was to cover freight from Tasmania to NT. The exact same wording as above buying it for his Son working in NZ 15days on 15 off. He kept pestering me to just put $950.00 into a bank account and Paypal would reimburse me as soon as they received it. I was even to borrow it as said I didn't have a spare $950.00 to do this and that I would wait until it was all in my account. He threatened to report me to Paypal and AFP as I was starting to sound dodgy. I said go ahead but until the money was in my account wasn't doing anything. I then got a bogus email confirming from Paypal that the money was pending and that I only had to pay 950.00 to a bank transfer and I'd get the rest of my money. They even sent me an email asking to do their survey. It all sounded too dodgy and now im glad I stuck with my gut feeling as I find this on the internet.

This number is linked to DECEPTION BAY STATE HIGH SCHOOL and is used to send parents messages about there child in relation to events Eg:- Your child arrived late at 849am. or your child has a school camp coming up next month and so on.
it maybe different from time to time but from the last 8mths till now that is what I receive from this number.

I got a message from this number today saying it was from sacs surfboards and my surfboard was ready to pick up. The weirdest part was this is not the first time this number had contacted me as in 2013 an email advertising a local Harvey Norman sale came from the same number

Got mms from this number obviously phishing scam. Do not open or download mms delete. Btw I dont even use gumtree or ebay.

Yes, have had same problem with kennelly001 @ gmail.com Says he wants to buy bike but only through paypal as he can't access internet (even though he sent email!) Clearly stated in ebay that COD. He sent a few more emails stating he paid through paypal. Then 'paypal' sent us email stating that as well. Then 'paypal' sent email that said our credit card got declined and to click on link. Forgot to mention to him that email we gave him wasn't linked to paypal and we don't have any credit card linked either! Ass
