Text purporting to be from Recoveries Corp, no answer when you call back, number in text does not match number given on RecCorp's website, and prompts you to download software. Seems like a scam.

Received a text message saying to contact Mason Black + Mendelsons on 1300 132 859. saying to click on a dodgy link. Phone number does not match phone number on their website, This is the 4th text from a different number since 07 March 22. Debt collectors will send a letter to your address first. SCAMMERS beware

I have been receiving calls from a call centre saying they are from ‘Linkt’ (Melbourne Citylink). They ask me for my personal details which I refuse to give. I say give me a reference number and I’ll call Linkt to discuss it. They refuse and then they try to pressure me. I have checked with Linkt and they say it’s a scam.

Now I’ve received a text message from this mobile number saying “Take control of your debt: recoveriescorp allows you to create & manage your own repayment plan. Visit https://reccorp.app/xxxxx” I out the xxxx’s I because I don’t want anyone trying the link! I think they are still trying to scam me.

Called by accented woman claiming to be 'Jade' from 'Auto General Insurance' about a motor vehicle incident, saying I was a contact on my wife's insurance policy. Required my full name, date of birth and residential and email addresses before she could tell me more, which I refused to provide. Sent me an SMS from 0439 455 875 giving me the number 1300 074 359 to call and to quote a reference number (that partially matched an old claim that had been settled). Called Auto & General Insurance - no evidence that anyone had accessed the file or had called me, no 'Jade' was known to them, and nothing on the file that required attention. Possible identity phishing or attempt to defraud.

I called the number to be told they are Recoveries Corp, i provided them with the reference number, but they refused to tell me what the call was in relation to until I gave them my name, dob, address & phone number. Not providing that info until I know who they are. Said if it was legit, they would be sending me a letter rather then an SMS. called them a scam and hung up
