Changed and reposted my ad on Gumtree 3 times and each time I do so, I get a text from Craig or Simon with the usual questions of lowest price and condition. This person is a scammer and what is needed is for someone who has fallen for his trap to report the number and for the location of the number be traced. Maybe Gumtree should clearly note to avoid inquires from this number.

Scammer tried to buy my bike on gumtree. Said they was a Mary Cole (this time). I was onto it as a scam and didn't fall for it.

Just received a message from a Katrina on this number wanting to buy a car... Thanks for the warning guys on here :) Told her/it where to go.

Advertised my car on Gumtree. Received text asking for further details to be sent to jonathanbrenda07@gmail. Email sent. Said he was was working NZOG on Kapo Project. He requested paypal or bank account details. Wrote back stating I knew he was a scammer

Just received email from Bill Owen @ hotmail.com.au said do not send sms or phone him a low life scammer

Messaged us today regarding our boat on eBay...said his name was Bill Owen wanted us to email him at johnlace00 @ hotmail.com
Knew it was a scam

3 different names from this number over a few weeks asking me to return info via email . obvious scammer. i just disregard these messages.

Just listed an ad on Gumtree and received two texts from same number asking for the present condition of item and final price. Asked to be emailed at roycryan91 @ gmail.com and kyliehutchinson @ outlook.com
Luckily I looked up the number here and found all these comments...WOW!

Tried to buy from me off an ebay ad today. wanted me to take ad off ebay and he would buy using paypal and organise a 3rd party to pick it up due to him "working in bermuda" Dumb ass!

Watch out for this scam! Sam Salteri tried it too by offering to buy motorbike through PayPal etc. Told him do not have PayPal account & not interested in getting one. He's still saying that is interested in buying bike... Fat chance! Be careful of this bulls***t artist

Seems a bit sus have not replied to txt message.Seems lika a scammer answering to an add on Gumtree.from Simon 0428 465 117 reply to his email address Jona..an007 @ textfree.us.2 messages so far should be a law against these pricks a law with big bloody teeth.

Just tried to scam me to buy my bike on gumtree

This Scambag replied to ad posted by us for sale of caravan on Gumtree. We received SMS from a Simon on the above mobile number, with request for reply to jonaathan007 @ testfree.us.
Asked for lowest acceptable price and condition of van. Not being a computer nerd, answered but fortunately did not give any bank a/c details, stated cash or Bank cheque only. Thought email from "US" weird at time, but sent to see what happened. Funny ... all communications gone quiet. Now aware and will check all phone numbers and emails from now on.

Replied to and ad we put on Gumtree over the weekend and looked like a "real" person that was interested, fortuneately we gave them no private details

Just listed a car on carsguide.com and received 2 sms messages from 0428 465 117. The first was asking for a firm price from Mark and the second from the same number from Steven.lewry @ outlook.com saying he wants to buy it? different names from same number I thought I should look it up. I also think its a scam to get the bank details!

This scammer has just messaged me about my van for sale. Wake up to him.....

And another from this number with the email billowen @ hotmail.com.au this time.
