'Manager Mark' from Maxwell rang again last night but told him too busy and not interested. And now this evening he rang and would not take 'not interested' on board. I hung up and he rang again straight away which my husband picked up. Mark asked to speak to me so I prepared to record the call. He had hung up but rang back again and became very rude and argumentative, as did I, while recording the call. Told him I had done my research, wasn't interested and had reported it to ACMA because it was a scam and I was on the do not call register. Told him it was unsolicited, that I was going to hang up and repeatedly asked him did he understand that I did not want him to call again. He continued to argue so I hung up again.

I am on the Do Not Call register and so do not generally have scammers calling. However earlier this week I had a call asking to do a quick 30 sec survey for a Govt initiative - was after hours but I was still working, so tried to get off the phone. She was persistent so I answered some of her questions, more fool me. Tonight I've had a man from Maxwell Solutions quoting back to me the info I provided and trying to get me accept an in home presentation of government initiatives to save $90-120K in tax over the next 10 years 'with no obligation' and I would never hear from them again once I'd provided feedback on the package. I didn't agree to anything until I'd done some research so I asked for a website. Was told that it existed but was confidential and he couldn't provide it. I said I would not accept a home visit until I had done research so he asked when he could call back - I said Monday. He was not happy with that as the presenter would be in my area on Monday and so he wanted to arrange it for then. I said I wasn't in a hurry, so he finally gave up and thanked me for my time.

Thinking about it, we have been having many calls around dinner time where there is no-one at the other end and I had one just before this call connected. I cannot tell whether it was a Victorian number like the others here - *10# indicated it was unidentifiable.

Will try and report this to DNC Register.

We just had this company ring repeatedly with the rudest man who called himself mark. He claimed to know our personal information etc and kept ringing back when we told him not to. He then proceeded to demand we stop hanging up on him as he had cctv cameras in our house and coukd see ua hanging up on him. He said if we kept hanging up he would ring the mobile.. he clearly doesn't have it though because it hasnt rung. The only way to stop him was to take the phone off the hook. Im either going to report them to my service provider, or alternatively my daughter- who is a police officer. These disgusting people need to get themselves a real job instead of harrassing people that do have one.

Just got a call from Lesley (male English accent) asking to speak with my husband. Asked who and where he replied "Maxwell Solutions" and had my husband had been speaking with them. Asked hubby, he had no idea who it was so I went back to Lesley and advised that you may have the wrong number. He got very rude and said at least he could have the decency to come to the phone, and as I was about to reply, he slammed down the phone!

He call back again and again and I ask him to stop as my husband was resting as he has a second job and had to go work but he called again and assured me that he will be calling again tomorrow. About a hour later a woman from the same company start calling. I have register with do not call tonight as I called my service provider and this is what they advised ,but this could take a month before this stops has anybody got advise as to how I can stop this

I just received a call from Maxwell? An Indian sounding lady was able to state the my occupation and that of my Wife. They used her nickname so I am sure that it was obtained from a competition entry. I refused to provide confirmation and asked her to send it in writing. She said ok and hung up.. We also have a private number..

Just had a call from Payless solutions - apparently a government approved scheme for tax savings. She told me I could accept the information, no obligation and get it checked out by my accountant. the caller was an Indian woman who told me I had given her information in the past... alarm bells... I don't give out information. Politely hung up

Just had a call from the rude Indian woman - the "as ai already told you" one. She knew heaps about us and insisted I had provided her this information. She wanted to confirm our postcode BUT she quoted our old postcode of about 7 years ago. She claimed to be from a Government advisory body insisting they receive no money or payment from anyone. I told her that's rediculous and she got pretty nasty. Hung up on her!

Just had Maxwell Solutions on the phone asking for me by name. I said I wasn't interested, said goodbye and hung up. He then rang me back to say how rude it was to hang on people, told me he wasn't trying to sell me anything and I said I wasn't interested, goodbye. He about 7 more times, where I just answered and immediately hung up until I disconnected my phone from the wall. I then asked Telstra to trace the call but reading the above comments I see its a scammer and they probably won't ring back, but if they do I'll tell them I've got a trace on them. I shouldn't have to pull my phone cord out of the wall :(

Thanks for your comments. I must've been in one of my 'vague' moods when this guy called me and before I knew it I had agreed to a presentation, on behalf of both my husband and I. After a couple of days I snapped out of this mood and did what I normally do .....research. I realised I hadn't been given a callback number in case I had questions or wanted to cancel. I found Maxwell Solutions was not on white pages, nor did they have a website, and when they called it always showed 'private number'. And most importantly I read comments on this forum. This gave me all the ammunition I needed, when I got the call to confirm/remind the presentation meeting. The guy spoke so quickly quite obviously so he could terminate the call asap to imply I was agreement but I told him bluntly that I no longer wanted the presentation. When he asked why I firmly, but not rudely, said there was no transparency with the company whatsoever stating the above facts and that if the company is legit why is there no transparency. He said I wasn't giving him a chance to explain but I just said no explanation would change my mind so no point in wasting my time and his. With that he said goodbye and hopefully there'll be no lasting repercussions from this.

So did they end up turning up Nick? I had a call from them last night and made a time but then before finishing the call said I will discuss with my wife before I commit and call them back as I suspected something. If they turn up I will certainly not be letting them into my house and will not be calling them back to cancel or say I am not interested as I was given the same number as you which clearly does not work.

I rec'd call last night asking for my husband by name. I replied he was not avail and could I take message. He asked if I was Mrs ..... to which I refused to respond as caller said he was from Maxwell Solutions and sensing scam call I was about to hang up. He then became rude as I would not confirm my name and said my husband has given him our financial information and he could only speak to me if I confirmed who I was. I responded that we do not give out personal information like that and told him he was being incredibly rude. He said I was rude and he would call my husband at another time as he no longer wished to speak with me and then hung up on me! I have rec'd many calls requesting to know how many and ages of working people people in our house. We never have given any info. This man did refer to this survey call and said that is where he got the information.

The guy called back 7 times within the space of 2 minutes, despite me repeatedly telling him I was not interested, I was on the no call list and would report his number, and hanging up on him - the phone would ring again within (no exaggeration) 5 seconds of hanging up. He only stopped when I said I was recording him (which I was by putting him on speaker phone next to my iPhone). Never had such a persistent, rude, nuisance of a call.

I've also received several calls from this number and have resorted to hanging up on them. They blocked their number tonight, so I answered thinking it was my mother calling (has a private number). I'm getting fed up!

Posted message earlier. He called again. I argued with him about breaching the DNCR laws. I told him not to call me again 4 times. He kept replying that he is not selling anything. I told him I googled the number he called from. He insisted it is a generic number and that is why its different to the company's number. He would not admit to me that he was not actually in Australia. I hung up on him while he was still talking as though he still thought he could talk me into letting someone come to my home to show me a tax benefit package. See message from 'South Aussie' 9th June. I reported him on the DNCR website like they said. The more that do it, the better.

this guy Anthony from Payless Solutions told me I had recently spoken to him and given him answers to a survey, he talked over the top of me when I said no to everything and then when I said I am on DNCR and he had obviously got the wrong number he kind of drifted off and said, oh....ok..... Funny, I have only just had the home phone put in - where do they get their information? He seemed to know a few things, like my name (but thought it was my last name when it is my first name!) Late call too - after 8, when I thought telemarketers were not able to call after then.
