My response these days is to say very politely that I am receiving oral sex at the moment and could they please call back another time, if they do I just play a porno on the laptop that lasts for 10 minutes of orgasm and then say I am to exhausted to talk now. They NEVER call back,
cheers.

That's like a garbage man complaining about the smell.

If you don't want the abuse of working as a cold caller, go flip a burger instead. Plenty of other jobs out there. Everyone hates being cold called. You start each day KNOWING this, yet you do it anyway. Remember... YOU are calling US uninvited, we don't care if YOUR ANNOYED!! Suck it up princess

Hey,
So I used to work for this business, and although it is annoying to the people getting called, it annoys us that when we ask to have your numbers removed, they aren't. Then people like myself who took up this job to put my daughter in a good school while working another job at the same time, gets abused left right and centre, being told to hang myself and that I am worthless! The racism is ridiculous also. Not that it matters, but I am a white Australian, and was born and raised here, yet I would get blasted "go back to your own country you dirty ****.
I get that the constant calls is an issue and the people hang up because they get sick of an 8 hour day being abused. All the company does is offer free hearing tests, which when I got the job thought would be easy as I wouldn't have to ask for personal info... yet I got treated like a piece of dog poo. And, which I would happily have told people I used to call until the blasted me over the phone, is that nothing is private and possibly once upon a time the person who had this number may have been a client. The DNC list is useless as any company can get your number as the person who first had that number may not have registered it and BOOM there you go, we've called them, they are on our records. Even though, as I can see, there is a lot of hate, there is also a lot of love we have received while I was there. Allowing businesses to have their staff tested for free, people who were too embarrassed to tell anyone they have hearing concerns are able to talk about their concerns and have a free appointment (as some places charge through the roof) and also informing pensioners their medical entitlements which include Audiology (They get free hearing aids).
So although no one likes cold calling, please think twice before abusing the hell out of the 22 year uni student trying to get some part time flexible work, the man or woman who is too embarrassed about their body to get a face to face job or the parents, male or female, trying to earn some extra money to give their young child the best life possible. I would go home crying some days with how cruel some people could be..... its a job, requires not much work experience, and it pays the bills! NO one who works here grew up wanting to be a telemarketer, remember this before telling some one to F off and to go kill themselves. Not everyone has the best upbringing that has the opportunity to get a fancy job, sometimes this is all people have or can do. And there are staff there who are 70+ who want to feel apart of a community still, and due to the fact this job is over the phone, they are hired. It is social for them and gives them "purpose". These are grandparents, and the one day I'll never forget is some bogan man screamed at this particular woman telling her he would do horrible (won't go into detail) things to her in front of her family if she called him again" She cried and quit. No one deserves that treatment. Imagine if someone spoke to your mum or grandma who was only trying to offer free hearing tests to pensions etc and get some extra cash in their pocket as the Australian Pension pays poorly now to our older community.
Sorry again for people who are being harassed.... just remember to not always shoot the messenger... just trying to live.... better than doll bludging!
And for those who are getting called and hanging up, it all works by computer, you hang up, someone else in the business' computer calls you later that day. Answer the phone and request to make a complaint, but do it nicely please, not everyone is made of concrete.

Actually, the joke is on you. It's an auto-dialler and they hang up straight away anyway. It's a broken auto-dialler that has been pestering people since at least early 2013, we need to all call the ombudsman's office.

Just called them back. Was polite and to the point. Asked to be removed from the calling list, the lady said 'Certainly', took my number down. Make sure you get the operators name and the date and time of your call, if they call again, you can quote the date and time of the call you made to remove yourself from this list and contact the relevant ombudsman to take it further if required.

That is all good. People may start to think that they misjudged such a caring for people organisation. Stop there.
I have taken the hearing test. Few days after that I received a letter with advertising materials for hearing devices for $5000.
And they charged me $50 admin fee. Otherwise the test is free. Relly?
Whoever needs proper hearing assessment should go and see a ENT specialist, who can advise on the best way to address your hearing problems, without trying to sell you hearing devices.
This organisation is another money making machine, It exists because of the sellers of hearing devices. Their main goal is selling products, not helping people.

For what reason would people cold call these day's? no one likes it, no matter who they are. If a everyday person would want something or pay for a charity we just go and do it... simple as that... All cold calling does is ruin the company name and money that's raised for the disability persons. What happened to friends of friends raising money or tickets at the supermarket ect. You waste money on paying persons to call people that are just not interested and automatically think its a scam, We're Australian's and proud of it! stop calling!

I am on the Do Not Call reister but National Hearing Care (03) 9264 9100 call me every day. I never answer. I have them on Blacklist. I made a complaint with the Do Not Call register and left a message on National Hearing Care's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NationalHearingCare. They asked me to send a PM with my number and claimed they will take me off their call list. I did so.

Blow a whistle in the phone. Or, tell your 3 year old it's the tooth fairy on the phone, and hand it to them.

A cold caller isn't a scam caller. Usually someone battling for a quid who if had the choice at that time in their life would choose another way. We don't have to answer the phone, but if I do, usually in error, terminate politely and quickly. If caller too painful, a 'cold' hang up is easy.

Serial pests who do not accept NO! for an answer.I don't care if you work at the call centre in order to pay veterinary bills for your geriatric cat or to put your bratty kid through expensive private schools in fact I don't give a damn about the reason, if I tell you not to contact me I mean DON'T CONTACT ME. Rot in hell. They have been told to remove my number BUT THEY IGNORE REPEATED REQUESTS. This organization is run by inept idiots.

I work in a busy office and have just had this number call then hang up. Called them straight back and spoke to them about how their company is so rudely represented using this practice. Suggested that they reconsider spam calling as a marketing tool or at the very least be courteous when people answer. Explained that when I googled their number the top 7 results are websites with people complaining about this number. I wish I was confident that my whingeing would solve the problem of their crap conduct.
